The Y seats are almost the same, but noticed the seat felt better padded than before. Also the headrest is leather too. The iPad i noticed was on flight mode now and after take off the WiFi was turned on so you could use it. It also states it has anti theft technology in place. It easily slips into the holder on the back of the headrest. My only complaint with it was the streaming took some time to get going, not sure if that was a server issue or not. the content also pauses during cabin announcements too. Had no problems getting my iphone onto the stream too.
Do you think then that you might be able to put in a personal iPad (or similar sized tablet device) into the holder?
Did you see where the iPad was positioned for the front of whY? Interesting conundrum then if I knew I was getting a refurb'd a/c would I give up front row of whY to be able to have a built in holder for my iPad...
How did you know ahead of time that you would be on the refurb'd bird?
Ah ok - no way to forecast then.
Same here, lucky I didn't since I spent all of 3 minutes on board before it went u/snope.. I contemplated an ODU, but then thought next time...
Am I one of the few that don't watch/need IFE on a golden triangle flight?
Of course, many people are not like us and need entertainment, even for a 90 minute flight (block time), so IFE-less aircraft is not quite ideal.

Though Qantas and Virgin both have plenty of routes around the 90 minute mark without any IFE and people survive!
Just a Q about the 767 refurbs as part of this has Qantas actually removed the old IFE system or is it left in situ? If in situ does the radio still work?
Wow, the pretend leather headrest on the cloth seat looks terrible.
