First refurbished 767 enters service end of the month [Oct '12]

I would one day like to do the island hopping with UA from CNS to HNL on the 737 ;)

Did it a few years back amongst the various more novel ways to get there. (with some time spent in Guam) Also have done PPT-HNL and RAR-HNL which no longer operates. Years ago with my parents we did HNL-PPG-NOU-SYD on Pan Am with a stopover in each then rejoin a few days later...those were the days!

Because people continue to pay a premium for a substandard product.

One of the reasons QF is still in business.

I cannot use my QF points with HA last time I checked so I will again be flying the 767 to HNL in Feb. I don't like it but I will do it. I can use an airline and favour some of its aspects while still giving criticism where it's due.

You can use AA miles though, and they are somewhat a cheap option at present.......

I was on OGQ on Saturday in J and have to say whilst the seats did seem nice and the cabin fresher I really found the Ipads slow and coughbersome so probably wouldnt bother again with them unless flying east west which I believe is going to be all A330 any way.

I will add that I comend Qantas for trying to do something.

as a 'glass half full' kinda guy..at least there will be a consistent hard product across all flights ex BNE.. no need to 'adjust' your departure times to get a particular type of aircraft!! :D

Just to clarify though, of all the refurbished 767's (present and future), other than international config planes 1/2/2 in J, will they all have the same Y layout, or will there still be differences between a few, thus you still need to keep an eye on the booking to make sure your choice of seat doesn't change?

Considering the ZX's are going, the differences won't be as bad as what they used to be with the ZX's around

Good point, and of course it only refers to weekday flights, weekends will still see 738s etc

VH-OGV was/is the ONLY 767 with different Y/C (there's a galley at the back of J/C, middle front of Y/C)..i say WAS/IS because i'm not sure if it has been changed to the 'common' layout of all the other 767s after being refurbed....if you click on the various seatplans for 767-300 on QF.COM you will see what i mean :D (please note i am NOT referring to the 7 exBA birds) :D

They did bring forward the SYD-PER route going all A330 to match the timing of BNE-PER going all 767.

Sydney perspective: Those A330s had to come from somewhere!
Brisbane perspective: Those A330s had to go somewhere...
