and then we had a dessert wine (Brown Brothers Orange Muscat & Flora) - missed the photo:

So we broke out table record today. 5 reds, a white and a dessert wine.

Now after a brief respite (a coffee) they are onto the single malt (Highland Park). I am a clever enough to be driving later this afternoon so have been out since after the first Wolf Blass.

Pup unfortunately out for 139, quickly followed by Siddle. Time for Haddon to open his shoulders with 3 greenhorns left to bat with him - and he hasn't disappointed with his 6 to reach his 50

NZ keeper has just returned after going off due to losing half a front tooth earlier. We had a dentist in our group who was interested in helping out, but the NZ team dentist (or the emergency on-call one) had a quick job to do.

Pattinson out for 12, now 8/374. Interesting to see he bats left handed and bowls right.

Now you don't see these stats very often ;)

Starc very lucky not to be caught (dropped at first slip) and then run out (as he thought he was caught and was walking). Would have been thoroughly embarrassing on 0.

The beer plastic cup "snakes" have started in the old Hill area :D

Well my time here is at an end (for today and the Test) - time to head for home. We lead by 100 with Haddin on 71 and Starc on 16, 8/397.

Will Starc and Lyon hang around long enough for Haddin to get his century

Got back to my car, to find Australians all out for 427 - Haddin 80 and Starc 32 n.o.

and listened to Pattinson get MacCullum out in the last over! Yippee 1/10

Wow, what a morning of cricket. I am sitting get at my in-laws house (my temporary home for 3 nights) and watched the Black Caps implode this morning to some brilliant first spell bowling from Pattinson (who got a Michelle!). NZ all out 150, we only need 19 runs to win.

yes i am sure our new young talent will earn their money.

see what happens when you turn over the selectors?

11 in the first over. Looks like the Aussies have an early tee-off time at the golf course this afternoon.

Hughes thought he was hitting the winning runs and didn't learn from the previous ball when he was dropped - out for 7, 1/11. Don't think he'll be playing the next Test

Certainly of late doing stupid things and/or performing poorly has not been particularly career limiting...

Thanks for the commentary Lindsay.

Some positive signs for Australian cricket. Pattinson, Starc and huge leap forward for Lyon. When coughmings comes back I believe there is no room in the team for Johnson and Siddle. Could be a good bowling attack for many years to come.

I think he will play the next test as Watson and Marsh are likely to still be out but I do agree that the future does not look good for Hughes.

I would give Warner a little longer and probably the same time as Hughes to show he can make it at this level
