This is definitely not for everyone as it's quite a bit of flying. ADL to Tokyo Narita, business return via Fiji with a 17-22hr stopover in Nadi both ways. Alternatively you can do a multi trip, stay for 5 nights and fly onto Tokyo for the same price. - GF Link

Couple hundred cheaper if you're willing to go through a TA.

Few dates available in July onwards.

One way also possible for ~$1500. GF Link

Did you end up booking this?

I can only find one seat for the good prices(need 2), If I add a second seat the price quadruples.
I wonder if another cheap seat opens up after booking?

Booked ADL-NAN-NRT FJ J with a 12 day stopover in NAN for $1671.
Not a bad price. Can confirm second seat did not open up after booking.

Both IMHO.

FJ J NAN-SFO cost 82,000 QF points plus $FJ247.56 (approx $A164.27) &
FJ J NAN-SIN cost 82,000 QF points plus $FJ. Unsure of the amount.

A few months ago I need to book an one way fare from Tokyo to Melbourne.
FJ was about 1500, but SQ was 1600....

There are some crazy deals for JP > AU however AU > JP is generally expensive. That SQ is one of the cheap prices I've seen. I think I also saw some of the chinese carrier with cheap one way J tickets under 1500.

You could also get return SQ J from TYO to AU for 2600 or so iirc. but AU > TYO would be 4000 + for the same timings.

Going via China might be cheaper, but I'd rather not deal with the stress of their transit visa on arrival thing. I've heard some stories, and those are people born and grew up in China (AU citizens now obviously)!

Yeah anything starting here is not going to be cheap, SQ is not bad, I also look at CI and CX. All great places to do a stop over.
