FJ fare class change

I booked SYD - NAN return 1st Feb under Bula Saver which gives free seat selection.

Fiji Airways changed their ticketing classes 1st March per this link:

On Friday, I tried to swap seats thinking that I can reselect the same seat category/pricing but the website is asking me to pay extra. I cancelled this and tried to take my old seat selection back but it is asking me to pay extra now.
I called them up to ask them to give my seat back but they refused and wanted me to pay. Saying that your fare is now under Value Fare and seat selection is chargeable.
I'm really angry at this because there was no notice of change in fare, and if I had bought my ticket prior to the change shouldn't my benefits still be accepted per the booking I made?
They can't even give me my previously confirmed seats back.. spent 1hour 40min with them, got transferred to Manager and line cut out..
 
Same thing has happened to me. I had 4 reward seats booked last year that offered free seat selection. The allocated seats have gone and now cost FJD13 each (I didn't even try to change seats, the allocation just disappeared.
I think I'll just have to roll the dice and hope we get put together at check-in.

What happened with this, did you end up getting free seats at check in?

Auto assigned seats at check in. We got seated together so it wasn't too much of an issue. But I think the FijiAir staff at Intercon check in did his magic to seat us together.
