Flight alert- how quick?

Just a little data point- im sure if i read up more i would have found this out prior and had myself prepared.

Had myself a lax-syd united F alert for 2 pax in 5 days time. Looking back now they opened up at exactly t-5 days to the minute of departure. Only woke up to the alert this morning... Gutted. Lesson learned!

I've had similar experiences with seat alerts. It's not very quick (assuming you're referring to Expert Flyer).
