PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Got the J upgrade on the outbound leg on QF7 - as per usual though slept poorly on this flight due to the time of departure and me being a night owl that is rarely in bed before midnight.

Could someone please take a look at QF8 for this Friday (26th)?

Load looks promising: F9 A9 J9 C9 D8 I0 W0 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H0 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 G0

Haven't heard anything from QF yet so if someone could take another look at QF8 for the 26th that would be appreciated!

It's now F4 A4 P0 J6 C5 D0 I0 U0 W0 R0 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H0 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 so it looks like upgrades have already been processed. There are only a handful of seats left in the premium cabins so they might be holding them back for last minute commercial availability.

Thanks Andy. Looks like I've missed out on Round 1, hopefully Round 2 at the gate will be a winner.

Can someone please look at loadings for SQ912 SIN-MNL on 28 March?

Almost had a panic attack when I booked this flight. Only 4-5 vacant seats and all middle seats. As soon I saw exit row available I happily paid USD20 for the privilege. And that's a good thing about the SQ website. Choose seat before buying.

It's Y9 B9 E9 then nothing else in Y, so it seems to be pretty heavily booked. Also, SQ910 (the flight at 9.35am) is fully booked in Y already. I would expect any flights on/near Catholic based holidays to/from MNL to be fully booked well in advance (at least in Y).

Quick update - received the eagerly awaited text message from QF a few hours before the flight and had a good sleep on the way home.

May I ask as for loadings (for F) on QF11 SYD-LAX on Thursday 03-Mar-2016 please? Mrs C and I (both SG) have J (and cabin looks fullish at the seat selection page) but have applied for a points upgrade to F.

I also keep checking for any seats opening up in Emerald City - only one thus far.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks, drewbles, this does look promising - actually looks like there's more availability in F than J (percentage-wise).
BTW, what does the little diamond beside some of the seats mean?

C.
(thinking/hoping his glass may be filling - however Mrs C keeps telling me "stop licking at the lolly shop window :)!")

The diamond things are references to Seat Guru and the quality of the seat. The yellow diamond is a 'caution', green is 'good' and red is 'bad'. Typically yellow means 'close to galley' or 'close to lavatory' and advises you to avoid if you do not wish to be disturbed. Check it out on seatguru.com though :)

Thanks again...... keeping fingers crossed for 3K,4K.

Quick "dumb question" (still new to understanding this black magic known as upgrades): checking seats on my flight yesterday there was one Emerald City seat open - today there are four (although none together). Does that mean
(a) they're being released as it's now about T-60?; or
(b) the persons in those seats have been upgraded (to F)?

C.
(nose pressed hard against the lolly shop window )

I haven't taken the time to look at the flight but it probably means those seats were only visible to WP or P1 PAX and blocked from others, but have now been unblocked.

Yup I see 4 in random locations too. May be due to upgrades, offloads, T-80, anything.
Screen Shot 2016-03-01 at 3.15.22 pm.png

Keep an eye out though, people may shuffle still. Lots of movement happens in the T-80 window.

Looks like op-ups possible for some lucky flyers. Lucky I grabbed exit row.

Upgrade Angel just tapped Mrs C and I on the shoulder! (EDIT: came through at T-24 for our domestic leg, or T-28 for QF11 dep time)

Never travelled internationally in F before...... never thought I would, except for the wonderful support of the folk here on AFF showing us how to fly at the pointy end. Thank you all. And thanks, Qantas.
