PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Could someone please check (again for me) QF73, SYD-SFO on 21/01/19? It looks like P1s got their upgrades, but here's hoping for me too (I'm WP, hoping for Y -> J). Thanks!

Is there any data... or anecdotal evidence about how many upgrade requests there are on average on certain sectors?

I’m on QF36 next week on a Y fare which is not eligible for an upgrade. What was I thinking?

Flight’s showing:
F - 8
A - 7
J - 9
C - 9
W - 9
R - 8

I expect this to be a pointless exercise, but I was considering contacting QF and offering some pints to updgrade in the hope they might be wanting to sell more Y at the end of school holidays.

Failing that, hoping (no doubt pointlessly) that as WP I might jag an op-up.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if somebody could help me out.

Can anybody please advise the lightest load in Y on:

QF45 MEL-DPS on any of 13 - 16 Feb
QF46 DPS-MEL on any of 20 - 23 Feb

For a one week trip. Ideally departing the 13th and returning on the 20th.

As the flights are on a 737-800 we are hoping to jag a shadow between us (I am QF Gold).

Friday looks worst but still too early to tell. Based on J loads Thursday may be best.

I’d be optimistic. Good luck and let us know how you go.
It came through at T-24 hours, and assigned me to a seat that was showing up as assigned in the earlier seat maps. I think your observations on moving people from J to F, then back filling with peeps like me holds true.

But anyway, I'm in J (happy dance going on - Mrs K says "sit down"), and on jb747's last flight from SYD-SIN

Very good!

Morning could some one please check the loads on QF36 on the 27th January SIN-MEL. Many thanks

Hi all.
Was wondering if someone could check my chances of getting a points upgrade from J to F on the following on Friday 25 January. I'm QF Gold status.

QF35: Melbourne to Singapore 12.20pm
QF1: Singapore to London 11.55pm

QF 35 MEL 12:20p → SIN 5:05p
F9 A8 J9 C9 D9 I9 W0 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 E9

QF 1 SIN 11:55p → LHR 6:15a
F5 A5 J5 C5 D0 I0 W3 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E6

First leg looks really good. Second looks reasonable as a gold
