PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Hi All!

I’m quite new to all this, but was wondering my chances of a Qantas upgrade (using reward points upgrade) on my international flight on QF40 from CGK to MEL departing 5 Jan 2023.

I’ve got >60,000 points and requested the upgrade a month and a half ago. I am only a bronze member though.

I’ve read a couple threads but a bit confused about how to check it on ExpertFlyer.

Also, curious to hear about when other people found out about their upgrade - is it really 24 hours before departure?

Thanks for your help.

I assume you mean tomorrow 05JAN2024?

Expertflyer says J9 C9 D9 I7 U0 which is not bad for you for a flight tomorrow.
Considering it's ~30 hours before departing, I would imagine the WP upgrade request already got processed. You still have the golds, silvers, Qantas clubs in front of you.
You may get a negative, positive, or no notification at all at anytime after 24h.
My guess estimate would be 20%, curious to hear what other says, and ultimately the outcome. Let us know. Good luck.

Help requested for finding Business seats from HSV -> CBR (not fussed about the route) mainly for the long-haul sector. The main options are probably:

LAX/DFW/SFO - SYD/MEL

The Qantas site seems to be broken when I try this one-way itinerary from HSV-CBR via the Multi-city page.

This page isn’t working

If the problem continues, contact the site owner.

HTTP ERROR 400
Any ideas of how I can do this apart from doing each possible leg separately in the multi-city page?

I have QFF Gold and roughly 140,000 points to spend.

Date of departure Sat 9 Nov 2024 or one day either side...

Thanks

Mike

I suggest using Google flights with the oneworld filter.

Use those results and try to replicate via the multi-city tool.

The QF site is very flakey when there’s three or more flights to get from Point A to B. Breaking it down often helps.

Hello good people - looking at helping out some friends with upgrades on

14/1/2024 QF43 SYD-DPS
28/1/2024 QF46 DPS-MEL

They got an email for bid upgrades - I presume reward upgrades still have priority? What's current availability like?

30DEC QF70 DEL-MEL QF-WP Upgraded from Sale Y to J with a message "Thank you for your loyalty. Enjoy the upgrade" on the BP. :) I did not request a points upgrade or with cash. Went to check in via the app and noticed that my seat had changed from 25J to 2A. My first ever upgrade without requesting. Happy with this, QF :)

Incredible! Was it a very full flight in Y, as well? Or were they genuinely just thanking you for your loyalty?

When I checked the loadings 2 days before the flight there were still Y seats available for sale ... If I remember correctly, there were some Y/B/H/K available for sale ... And I think there were only 2 WPs in the J cabin. I'm only saying this because only 2 pax in the J cabin got a wine bottle on just before landing, thanking for being a stellar pax and loyalty ...
