PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Hi,

Could someone please check availability for QF11 (SYD 17:35 - LAX 14:20) on 19/08/24. I am platinum member requesting upgrade from Economy to Business.
Also i am travelling with my partner (who is only a silver member) does this effect the upgrade in anyway?

It still looks good

Are you both on the same ticket or individual tickets. If the same ticket then your status should prevail over the SG requests.

Hi,

Yeah we are both on the same ticket - sorry I'm a newbie and not sure what all of the numbers represent! Assume it means there are plenty of seats in business left?

No problem. The numbers mean there are atleast 9 seats still available in business (J) and also 4 in first so some upgrades from J to F may occur freeing up more seats in business

Hi team,

Could someone please check Classic Reward availability for a MEL > SYD > NAD on QF430 / QF3869 on 12/07/25.

Also would love to check QF3866 NAD > MEL on 21/07/25 for the trip home.

I am platinum member hoping to request Classic Reward Seat release with partner & 2 children under 12. Many Thanks!

Welcome to AFF.

Please read the first post if this thread. It is at the top of every page and provides some handy guidance.

QF 430 there are plenty of award seats remaining in Y

Others may be more informed but I don’t believe you can request award seats be released on a FJ metal flight

Hi all
QF6 PER-SYD on Thursday (22nd) has been zeroed out on EF. Is this likely to be a precursor to the flight being cancelled?
Thanks
QF6 is zeroed out all the way from FCO, so looks like a cancellation. The funny thing is that QF5 on 20/8 still has seats for sale. And QF6 on 21/8 out of FCO to PER shows a lot of seats selected, so a lot of passengers to deal with.

Anyone care to speculate on the probability of my J to F upgrade clearing on QF11 this Friday the 23rd?

Dependng on your status, you're still in with a chance, with 4 seats still on the market. Probable that CL/P1 upgrades have been looked at already, so its pecking order below that, together with the other unknown factors like fare class, PCV, etc. Good luck with it!

J is full fare business. C, D, I and U (rewards fare bucket) are also Business. 9 means at least 9 seats available in the given fare bucket.
