PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thank you! How should one read the J9 C5 and D2. Does that mean there's a total of 16 seats in business, or total of (at least) 9, 5 of which in C class and 2 of which in D class.

No you can’t add them. The numbers mean there are atleast 9 seats available to purchase in full J fare business class. There maybe more than 9 business class seats available in the cabin but the fact they are willing to sell seats in the cheaper C and D fare buckets doesn’t confirm that.

And I suspect that because EF displays only single digits means that 9 is the maximum it can show.

Systems limitations might be an issue, historically. But it’s also a revenue control issue… airlines don’t really want to open their books to passengers or competitors with how many seats they have left to sell! Some airlines go even further, only displaying a maximum of 4 seats!

Hi,
Chance of upgrade to business from flex econ. Qantas platinum. PER-LHR. 06.11.24.
Assume you are looking at QF9. Looks promising at the moment but too far out for any certainty. Check back at the start of November

Just noticed that there are now 4 W seats for sale and 6 J seats. Would it be safe to assume they've processed some W to J upgrades for WP?

Probably a bit early for upgrades, maybe some last minute ticket sales:

Hi
Could I please have the below checked for loadings:
QF295 SYD -> BKK Monday 7 October
Many thanks in advance!

Hello from steamy-soon-to-be-typhoon-struck Taipei. Could someone please share the loadings for QF30 HKG-MEL on Tuesday 1 October? Thank you in advance (and praying for a seat - QC NB but will be back to Silver for the first time in 13 years once I land in MEL.

Interestingly my QF127 flight SYD-HKG a few days ago had two sets of flight crew (from the conversations and cabin bags) so 6pax in total up in J which might explain why there were no upgrade seats available.
