PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thanks pjm99au. I was on QF1 and 2 in june this year, did not get upgrade as QF WP for both legs. this is a busy and profitable route for QF.

It may be 'busy' but in the past the CEO has suggested that the LHR routes were unprofitable. With international departures and arrivals from/to Oz starting to decline (due to the drop in the A$, and insufficient 'other origin' replacement passengers), even if not so now, that may again become the case.

That's hardly 'weird', even if others suggest QF7 is routinely held if there's late running ex PER. A spare pair of (for males) socks and jocks, plus a polo or other shirt, in one's carryon is sound practice, although you sound like you want two of each. They don' weigh much.
I will take this advice as well and pack a change of clothes in my carry on in case I miss my onwards flight to Nouméa this week.
I only have 1 hour 20 minutes in transit in SYD and I don't have much confidence AirCalin will hold their flight if mine is delayed!

Can someone please advise of potential for Y-J upgrade on QF24 BKK-SYD on Sat 07 September? Thanks.
Also the upgrade fairy has just come online after a powder break and sadly informs me there may be a lot of people already wishing for an upgrade on that flight.

If someone could kindly advise me of loadings on...

It's really too far in the future for any reliable assessment, but:

Hi All
Looking for some advice on best upgrade potential for return flight from Sydney to Seoul.
I am WP.
Out Mon 18th Nov and return Thurs 21st Nov
Just going to do the direct one outbound (QF 367 code share Asiana at $613) unless anyone can suggest a cheaper alternative. I have all day to get there, but would like to arrive before 11PM.
On the return I am looking at a flex to try to get an upgrade with points.
2 options I see.
Seoul to Tokyo Narita and then from Heneda to Sydney 5 hrs layover. How long from Narita to Haneda and cost?
This is a 747-400 so should have more upgrade potential, but being a 400 are they going to be old seats.

Alternate is Seoul to Shanhai PuDong (5 hr layover so what is the lounge like) and then to Sydney on QF130. This is an A330 so less business seats but potentially newer and less hassle.
Both of above are around the $1030
All other alternatives given on Q site are more expensive.

Any advice / alternatives.
Many Thanks
XD

pjm99au kindly searched and informed me there were 9 last week. Hoping there is still a chance.

Thanks
