Also, there happens to be a direct Berlin to Rovaniemi flight but it only operates 2 days a week, starting on 11 January 2017. You could take this flight on 11 January if you were travelling about a week later. Is that an option? (It would also make the other legs cheaper.) The direct flight costs 149 Euros each with Germania.

But i have to travel from 27 or the 28th only from

Also another question. One of us has a expiring date on the passport. My passport is due in may 2016. I will have to renew my passport before hand.
Can i still book this even if my passport is due in may? my travel starts in december 2016. I dont no exactly how i am suppose to then tell them my new passport to update it or how much it will cost to update things or maybe it may not work online like this.... Flight centre said its no issue.. When you get the new passport bring it back to flight centre to update it. But what about online if i did this booking online knowing it is going to be separate tickets and so on.!

You generally need to have 6 months of validity left on your passport when entering a new country. So you will probably need to get a new passport.

There is no reason you can't book now and get a new passport later.

Thanks but i can still book tickets even though the passport is expires in a few months. My trip is in december but i know i will renew my passport next month or so. But i can still book tickets lets say tomorrow as an example correct ?

Now heres another trick part. Flight centre told me yes you can select a seat on the qantas fleet from brisbane to singapore. It never happen and i wasnt able to select seat on that flight from brisbane to singapore and the hongkong to brisbane,. Strange enough finnair aloud me to select and or pay a seat on every finnair flights i was able to do that online easily. But it wasn't true that the flight from brisbane to singapore and hk to brisbane didn;t aloud me select a seat. I call qantas they never help just because they said your booking is under finnair and you did it directly from a travel agency...... but all you can request is window. I request window. But by the time i got to the airport i never got that request window. The same way unable to select a seat what so ever. So flight center leaded me on making me believe they said was true which wasn't

So i dont no why qantas couldnt help me not even finnair as finnair is not qantas. Flight centre couldnt help me select a seat. So what is happening ? My flght said it was a AY something number but it was a qantas flight from brisbane to singapore. A qantas plane. But the booking said it was a AY5008 or soemthing like that. Should it of been a QF rarther then a AY for the brisbane to singapore as maybe if it was a QF i was able to select a seat online without an issue rather then a AY qantas fleet ? Let me know. It was the most uncomfortable plane ever brisbane to singapore it was a qantas logo plane but the ticket said it was a AY and not a QF so maybe its why qantas and no one was able to help me select a seat on that flight? Let me know its one of the things i want to be clear sure when making this booking. Finnair flights i was frereely able to select and or pay a seat as many times i wanted and change when i want. it was the issue with brisbane to singapore and hk to brisbane both qantas but both was AY qantas... Should it of been a QF so that the more chance of able to select a seat ? Sounds complicated i know but maybe someone here may know more then me. Flight centre lied. Sounds like flight centre doesn't no a thing.

Barbra, Yes you will need to renew your passport, but you certainly can book your tickets now.

But, am I reading correctly from your last post, that you have already booked with Flight Centre? I hope you didn't.

The seat selection problem, is a common occurence when you don't book directly with the airline or airlines in this case. It's one of the reasons everyone suggested you book with Finnair or Air Berlin or whoever, other than Flight Centre. With the Brisbane to Singapore, it is Finnair but on a Qantas codeshare, right? (correction, it is Qantas on a Finnair codeshare, right?) Then Qantas should be able to help if call and request, but I might be wrong?

I think Mattg's advice has been awesome. You should read his Trip reports, almost a european expert. The Germania flight looks good. Also I remember when searching Finnair for you yesterday, that other than Rovaniemi, there was the option to fly to Kemi ? It's about 118kms away? Too far? Just an option to consider.

Hope it works out.

Hi thank you avian to you. Yes his been very helpful and Presiste it very much.

What different does it make when it comes to select seats. Why I was able to select seats online after I bribing the tickets at flight centre. By visiting finnair to select finnair seats when I want with no need to call or go to flight centre again. But only I was unable to slect seats I didn't see a seat map from Brisbane to do Singapore and the Hong Kong to Brisbane. Those 2 flights are Qantas so why even by phoning Qantas they couldn't help me just because my booking was under finnair booking. Not even flight centre didn't help much at all they too tired to call Qantas for that while I was there when I made this booking last time I traveled. Finnair couldn't help and the airport did not help when I was there telling me sorry the palms is now fully packed unable to select a seat other then random seat. This is why I was frustrated because the Brisbane to singapore and the Hong Kong to Brisbane was the only 2 flights didn't aloud me to select a seat or at least pay a preference seat on economy. So what happen there ? Isn't flight centre book thoses as Qantas ?if It's a Qantas flight why not able to select a seat ?.finnair was much better more raiser to change and select seat and or pay a seat online when I wanted with no issues. it was just the Qantas they didn't aloud me to select. I really hope this booking I'm going to do doesn't end up with the same issue. Unless Qantas doesn't have the privilege to select seats anymore. The only reason now is... What happens if me and my partner are not seated together on that flight ?. As much as they didn't help me able to.select a seat of my preference and yet work in advance. I wondr of its also the my partner may not be seating next to me on this flight because Qantas and no one can help as much as they as they couldn't allude.select a seat before and after arriving to airport. Your opinion on this ?

Don't worry about the seats stuff. It can generally always be sorted either through a work around on another website or through a phone call. Though sometimes with codeshares it does get messy.

A lot of help has been thrown out here, specifically by MattG, I don't think it can be spelled out much clearer. You can easily do this booking yourself or at least tell Flight Centre what it is you want and what prices you have found, i.e. the ones directly off Finnairs website for those flights. They have a useless guarantee they should stand by.

Hi travel. I'm currently using a phone at the moment so I hope my spellings dint mix up incorrectly. Which I apologise if it does.

I'm convince to do this separate tickets if only there Is a big cap parice doference either with separate or not separate tickets. I've never done this before.

I know how to do with Brisbane to Berlin and rovaniemi to Brisbane but I don't no how to for the separate tickets as in get to Finland ? Does it abbr to be finnair or air Berlin ? As in get to Helsinki air Berlin and then Helsinki to rovaniemi by air Berlin again ? I want to travel on t hat particular day and to know I have enofuh time to pickup luggage and back to the check in during this separate tickets. And just to let you know it's me and my wondrful partner to this full trip. I already learnt how to for the other flights but not sure how for the separate tickets coidl you guide me on how to ?

Finally. What's the diferents on price either thidnid direct flights vs flights with separated tickets ?. Is that just 1.000 differents ?

Yes I do realie not to visit the flguht centre just because my last trip they charge me 4800 for one adult ticket directs with stop over but luggage goes to my destinations. A complete rip off and I've learn not to fully trust any flight centre.

And where am I suppose to pickup my luggage bags from and to ? Don't think the booking will tell me all that. so I have to be aware what I'm doing. Just so I don't end up thinking my luggage went to my destinations and so on .

Again thanks to everyone very much.

What date (exactly) do you want to fly from Berlin to Rovaniemi?

What date (exactly) do you want to fly from Berlin to Rovaniemi?

8th of January for 6nights in rovaniemi. I also wonder if it's yet not too early to book m flight centre last time said wait another week as they don't have the fulll January calender shown..

But as you aware I'm going to do it online. make sure when I get to Finland I have enough time for everything as in pickup bags and back to the check in counter again... To get to rovaniemi

Brisbane depart 28th Dec. Depart Berlin 8th Jan to get to rovaniemi on the 8th. Depart from rovaniemi on the 15the Jan and I get to Brisbane by the 16th Jan

There are no direct flights from Berlin to Rovaniemi on 8 January. You will have to fly via Helsinki. You could book this on one ticket with Finnair, but the cost is $1550 (1013 Euros) each!! That's absolutely crazy - don't even consider it.

I did a quick search on Skyscanner though and found the same Finnair flights for $413 each on Skidoo. That's with both flights on the same booking, so you won't need to pick up your bags in Helsinki. Honestly, I would recommend booking that. You can book directly from this page: https://booking.skiddoo.com.au/flig...redirectid=qQa4rNuWEeWeSAFnO4Pksg#/passengers

I had a look at other options with separate tickets from Berlin-Helsinki and Helsinki-Rovaniemi but the connections were not good and the flights were more expensive overall compared to what I linked above.

It would seem the entire thread "is a lend".

Please go to Flight Centre! They will be able to organise the entire itinerary for you and there will be no seperate tickets.

Also, always check the business fare. On occasion it is only a little more than economy.

Sorry, but I would have to disagree. Why should the OP book with flight centre when they quoted a price of $4,000 each for tickets that should cost well under $3,000?

Hi thank you for helping me out. May i ask which airline is this skiddoo? I would not like to hop on a flight ive never heard before.

What about from 27th of dec from brisbane depart from berlin on the 7th (instead of the 8th) janaury. And gets me to rovaniemi. Depart from rovaniemi on the 14th jan instead of the 15th. It will get me to brisbane by 15th january.
What about that solution just one step back. Let me know. And yes i would not wish to pay far too much that is for sure. Also depending how im choosing it first as in basic or pro on finnair.

I had in mind one of the dates 27th or 28th departing from brisbane. So try the 27th now see what solutions there are. Everything one step back so depart berlin from the 7th and gets me to rovaniemi on the 7th. Dpeart rovaniemi from the 14th instead of 15th and be in brisbane on the 15th which is a day later of course,

P.s ive jsut skyscanner and found exact as you just told me 413.00 how come its cheaper there and not on the official website. Unless the official site is lieing about prices. It be nice direct flight but its ok if it goes to helsinki. Just so long there are good hours there to do everything and at least seat and eat and hop on the plane next. But only one hickup. Any flights at least that i should get to rovaniemi before 6pm ? or 7pm ?

Departing on the 27th will be more expensive than flying out on the 28th. Stick with the 28th of December.

As TomVexille has said, Skiddoo is just the website you would use to book the flights, which are operated by Finnair.

Thanks tom. I see that now.

For over all i have to make this booking myself. So just to be clear sure.. SHould i make all this one booking without separate tickets or is it not worth the try ? Just that separate tikets is alittle headache from what im seen. I have to do 2 diferent separate tickets... plus the big one which is brisbane to berlin and berlin back to brisbane which is more of a luggage goes directly to your destinations. Just that the berlin to finland and rovaniemi is a little bit headache with all this. But if the price is not much diferents wither you do it all into one booking maybe go for that. Saves the having headaches from one place to another perhaps. I don't no. Im only learning from here so far just the separate tickets is what im understanding so far.
