We have a booking from Adelaide - Syd - DPS in October and was wanting to change the flight from Adelaide to leave on an earlier flight because Sydney is, well Sydney and Adelaide flights can run late. Plus, there's the F lounge to consider. This was a paid for flight in J for DSC and flex. Tried changing it online and got the generic error message. Twice. Have to call. Got through to the premium line.
Call 1. Maybe Tasmania call centre, operator was helpful but several minutes later he came back and said, No, married sector and will cost me quite some money (over $1500) more. He suggested I call back in a week or so, his manager suggested. Curious. What on earth could change that.
Email just now. 'Your flight has changed. You can get full refund or change flight." Tried to change online but couldn't. Wasn't exactly hopeful of being able to change but then remembered phone call a couple of days earlier.
Call 2. Got through quickly again. Oh oh. Didn't sound like it was from Tasmania. Prepare to HUACA. But, the operator said she would check, click click, oh I see what's happened, yes you can change free of charge, flight rebooked. For the earlier flight.
The two calls to the premium line were excellent. Answered immediately. Things are improving.
The flight change? All of FIVE minutes earlier from Sydney to DPS. Win! And clearly what was already in the wind. Always find it curious that a five minute window attracts such benefits though. And how often do planes depart on time anyway.
