I know QF domestic flights on the major routes are experiencing delays and cancellations but regional is just going from bad to ridiculous. Of 8 Qantaslink Dash 8 flights BNE/NTL/BNE flown in the past few weeks, all have been delayed or cancelled. 2 +15 mins, 4 + 30 mins, 1 +90 mins, and have now just experienced two cancellations in the one day. With zero explanations.
First cancellation 10 hours before departure and the second 1 hour before. Sitting watching Dash 8s come and go to other destinations, and it's only the NTL flights that have been cancelled, so obviously passenger loadings weren't good enough on the two earlier flights so they just push everyone on the afternoon flight, shrug their shoulders and leave the poor desk staff to deal with the angry pax. I've flown Qantas Dom and Int for 40 years (latest Int was Late 2023) and have seen it go from arguably one of the world's best airlines, to flat out making the top 10. Cabin and ground staff have been universally good to great, but they and the pax and being let down badly by years of mismanagement by previous CEO and board. No wonder their FF program is leaking like a sieve. Loyalty once lost is almost impossible to regain, and the premium service and safety aspects that once attracted FFs to QF are trending the wrong way.

What reasons were given for the cancellation?
When I flew BNE/ntl in Jan, an earlier plane went tech after take off, landed and all the pax were squashed onto our later flight (2425 iirc).

I understand the smaller flights have more frequencies but are they still running e190 flights you could aim for instead?

No explanation given for either flight. Just messaged that they were cancelled, and second message offering later flight or refund. Both flights cancelled today we're Dash 8, and all pax (I assume) pushed on to the last flight which is an E190

Good form by Qantas tonight!
BNE-CBR cancelled and no later flight, rebooked everyone onto a VA flight.
I wasn’t flying that route but qudos for getting people home at Xmas
