I spent alot of time on there as an expert initially, but only won one contest. Seems i was always close, but not the cheapest. I dont have the time to dedicate for such low earnings.

Have many AFF'ers used Flightfox recently? Either as a customer or expert? I'm keen to hear what everybody thinks about it.

For experts: (and those who are interested in becoming one). We've just added a stack of bonuses due to the influx of contests finishing within the next 24-48hrs.

Anyway, I'm keen to hear any thoughts/feedback/suggestions you may have. (:

Should I be including a credit card fee in the price I quote in contests?

I'm starting to have some doubts about the genuineness of this site.

For those of you who have 'won' and have been 'awarded' contests so far - how long did it take between the time you requested a withdrawal to when the $$$ appears in your paypal account. I've been awarded a few contests and its been a few days but nothings happened.

Pls PM me

I have always been paid everytime I've made a request for payment. If this is the first time you have asked for payment, the first thing that will happen is that [email protected] will contact you asking for confirmation of the paypal account to make payment into. Then, after that payment is processed.

It does take time. I have noticed that the fastest I've received money is about a day and the slowest has been about a week, but I've always received payment. It does not hurt to click on the Payment button again after a couple of days. I do know that last week was very hectic, so they are probably still getting through the backlog of work from the weekend.

As an expert, I've had a 0% success rate. Perhaps I'm not the expert I thought I was.

Payments are currently being processed manually, which explains why it can take anywhere from a day to a week. We usually try to get them all out within 1-3 business days.

We are looking to automate this in the future.

I'll pm you now pmdg7444, and see if I can speed things up for you.

I have a question regarding the payment of a finders fee when you start a contest - can you pay this from what's in your current earnings or do you have to withdraw and then pay it through PayPal or something? I tried doing a dummy booking but didn't want to go past the fee page in case it did take the money out. :p

A rating system for experts would be pretty cool - the contest holders could give you a mark out of 5 or something based on communitcation, addressing needs, pricing, etc.

Also, it seems that to see the newest flight contests added I have to go to page 7 or so to where they start saying 'finished'. Would it be possible to have an option to reorder the list in terms of creation date?

Lastly, it looks like there's a default length of time that the contests last for. Is this the case, and would it be possible at all to have options to select a length of 1, 3 and 7 days or more?

If you are holding a contest, you pay the finders fee using your credit card. I found that out when I started a contest recently and was hoping to use some of my earnings to pay for it. I would love the ability to use Paypal for starting contests as well. It would certainly mean I can use the money for something other than ebay.

A ratings system is in the works with the algorithm being tweaked. My contest hasn't finished yet, so I don't know what type of rating a contest holder is able to give the experts.

I just got four e-mails at once regarding a single contest - three stating that it was awarded to another competitor, the last saying I had won it (which I had). Same URL for all of them. Mightily confusing - I think you have a bug ;)

Can you forward me one of the emails saying you've lost please? I'll PM you my email.

We just switched a new email notification system and are ironing out some of the bugs.

MrHyde has got it correct. In fact, when a contest holder goes to select a winner they are asked to rank their satisfaction. This is currently one of the rankings in the leader board and will be used for other parts of the website soon.

Liam

I had three separate contests refunded today because the payer found the same fare or better themselves. What stops them looking at my flights, price and source, then using that data, but requesting a refund so they don't have to pay? Seems backward to me. Surely once you pay, thats it??!!??

Yes, I wondered about that scenario too. Honesty systems never seem to work that well when money is involved.

Big congrats to MrHyde for his efforts in the 48 hour frenzy on the weekend. I believe he came third.

I was leading on the board with 2 hours to go (1am Sydney time) but got done in the last 2 hours by Dauser, ending up 4th. Good to see two AFFs in the top 4!

I am now going to close this thread. AFF is not a support forum for Flightfox or, that matter, any other application. Support questions or feedback should be addressed directly to the company, following standard business practices.

I was happy to allow the initial post(s) because I think Flightfox is a good concept and would be of benefit to our members. That message is now out. If Flightfox want additional promotion on AFF, they can contact us to discus advertising opportunities.
