I am planning a trip to Tokyo in April/May 2025 and I will be flying from Perth to Haneda and return.
My criteria are:
Business Class
Stopover en route in both directions
Daytime only flights
Less than 7 hours flight time for each leg.

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions besides Singapore Airlines. The SIA website doesn't allow me to choose my preferred flight options when making a multi-city booking. But I am pretty sure that a travel agent could book my chosen options.

My other question is when is the best time to book.

Less than 7hr would make SIN stop very borderline. (SIN - TYO) Is around 7hr.

If thats ok then PER - SIN - TYO or PER - KUL -TYO is the best options.

Qantas/JL does this route too along with SQ or MH/JL via KUL.

CX via HKG is another.

Alternatively NH direct if you can take 10h.

That's a hard one.
Requiring a stop over points to going via somewhere in South East Asia, with the obvious options being SIN, BKK, HKG, SGN, KUL or MNL.
The requirement for business class removes some other possible connection points.

The less then 7 hours per leg can be problematic. PER-HKG, PER-BKK and SIN-HND for example all have scheduled time very close to 7 hours.

Do you require Haneda, or is Narita an option? With all the other requirements, limiting yourself to just HND only removes some of the few options that do meet your other requirements.

For example, Thai has 4 options, 2 of which are removed due to involving overnight flights and one of the remaining options is to NRT, not HND.

We have never had a flight on JAL go over 7 hours but on the return it has happened a few times due to having been put into a holding pattern near SIN.
Personally I prefer JAL but with SQ it is at least the one airline.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Also just FYI, looking at the state of Thai right now, it may be hit or miss - I saw nonstopdan's video going through lately and they didn't have a faucet on the business class bathroom (forgot which widebody - but the FA mentioned the companies finances didn't allow them to replace it). So the attendent poured bottled water over his hands after he was done in the toilet.....

Thanks everyone who replied to my questions. Business class, Haneda and flights less than 7 hours are essential. My travel enabler will have to fly in Economy, though.

We are staying the night in Yokohama, making Haneda much more preferable.

So, after looking at all the other suggestions, it looks like SQ is the only airline which will work for me.

Any suggestions about when to book?

Thank you AIRwin. I looked yesterday and there seemed to be no flights between PER and BKK. I had a better look at Thai Airways today and 3 of the 4 flights look very good. Just one arrives at 9:10pm which may be an issue, especially if the flight is delayed.
From a quick read of Thai Airways medical conditions requirements, I think I'd be OK.
I have another look at the flights and medical restrictions and then compare with SQ.

JAL means flying via the east coast from Perth.

SQ is your best option and most reliable.

Also, I have travelled from Narita by train to Yokohama and its very easy, so don't discount this as a option.

Qantas from Perth. Stops at Singapore, next flight will be on JAL. Singapore - Tokyo is just on 7 hours.
Leaves midday ish from Perth, next flight will be next morning 9ish; will need to book a hotel room for the stopover.
I don't do economy for flights over 5 hours, with the exception of JAL - plenty of room in their economy seats. Will be doing this route in January.
Might be out of luck with a daytime leg Singapore - Perth on the way back.

Yokohama. Are you going on a cruise then?

Flew Thai J MEL-BKK a couple of months ago and was super impressed. Seats were comfortable and nice to sleep in. Staff was attentive and food was good. Aircraft was spotless and well maintained. Would have no qualms about flying with them again

Yes, Puskha. We are cruising Tokyo to Tokyo for 10 days on my favorite Queen Elizabeth. My travel enabler, aka my daughter, had requirements of overnight in Osaka plus visiting Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And preferably during school holidays. Also, there's a bonus stop in Busan, South Korea. I can't travel without my daughter.
I now need an oxygen concentrator to be allowed to travel and manage very well PER to MEL and vv. But I don't want to arrive somewhere late, especially if the flight is delayed.
