Booked a flight for my mum using my points and to my surprise the booking is now showing in 'My Bookings' (both mine and mum's). Nice
Have this always happen?

Hi Anchew!

Pretty sure it has. It does it with my reward bookings with Virgin, so i can only assume QF's system would be similar.

Yeah, I know that you could do it easily with DJ but didn't know until just now with QF. The good thing with QF though is that status, in way of seat selection, transfers to the traveller when booking for a pleb (not that I'm calling my mum a pleb ;))

hahahhahah at least you didn't call her a kettle!

It has always worked that way for me. There is a field in the booking about which account the points came from to make the booking.

It's always done that as far as I can remember (well, the last few years anyway).

Yes, it been that way for at least 4 years. I've always been able to see the Prodigal Daughter's RTW trips I have donated via my points.

I think it must be a feature only available to Plats. I'm a bronze QFF member, and have just booked an award for my Mum but I cannot see the details on my account, and we can only review her booking under Mum's QFF account.

Is it a domestic or international booking? I've booked dom using my points in the past and it hasn't showed up, but this time it was for an international flight. Maybe that's the differentiation?

I've never been able to view award bookings made for other people from the "My bookings" page on my log-in - international or domestic. Probably > 50 award bookings made for others, so a reasonable sample.

Cam't understand why you technically should be able to, regardless of whose points were used. Same as if you paid for someone else's revenue ticket on your own credit card; it shouldn't really give you ongoing access to the booking.

It was an international booking.

I don't think it's only available to Plats - I am only Silver and have a couple of domestic bookings for family and they appear in My Bookings on my account, even though I am not travelling.

I guess it's no different to a travel agent having access to a booking after they have booked it.
