FLounge 6am to 10pm SYD for under $100?

Me and mates were talking yesterday and it was postulated that you could have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the FLounge (if OWE) for less than $100.

QFF suggests you can get to DPS one way for 20.3k points one way.

Also, a $100 Woolworths Wish card is 21,820 pts.

Just “miss the flight” and stay until they close.

Exit immigration and over to the Rydges for a sleep :-)

I am a journey-over-a-destination guy. I couldn't sit in a lounge and not get on a plane.

I am not saying it's a waste of time, as we all have different value propositions but here is something novel - use the time to get really good at delivering what others want, earn some cash and fly First !!
 
More than happy to trade a $100 woolies gift card with you for 21 820 points :).

Why not just check in earlier when actually travelling internationally? 20 300 points and $128 of taxes plus the hassle of explaning to immigration/airport security why you need to exit airside plus the cost of transport to and from the airport (and the cost of "Rydges for a sleep"), is a big price to pay for 3 meals (or even 10) in the First lounge. And to spend 16 hours there??? Kill me please.

No way I would do it. Was just interesting idea.
 
You're going to have to answer some heavy questions from immigration when reentering Australia, about why you didn't travel when your plane leaves. You'll be on a watch list for a very long time.

Don't be surprised if the QF F lounge staff approach you when your flight is called and you're being paged. They're not stupid, your BP is scanned on entry and staff speak to you.

With your QFF details on your booking it is extremely likely that QF staff will call the lounge asking you to be paged.

I really can't see Immigration staff letting the mystery of a missing passenger last too long. I'll posit that someone would be checking security footage pretty quickly to follow from airside entry to the lounge.

Oh and I reckon it might be your very last entry to the QF lounge ever, when your membership, including points and SCs are cancelled.

Still, if you value a meal in the F lounge that much, then go for it.

That's going a bit far.

Wouldn't be the first time someone got drunk in a lounge and missed their flight.

All is true about getting questioned by Border Force etc but Qantas aren't exactly going to throw the book at you for your first offence.

Nearly quite a few times! Never actually though.

I did once try to change to a later flight as I was drinking with a friend on a later flight (different destination). But they told me no because I had bags.

I can't remember the last time (if ever) ive been asked for my flight number by the wait staff. I've only pro-activly brought it up if I'm in a hurry to get a quick bite before running down to the gate.
At the top of the escalator by the check in staff sure but the wait staff don't care ime.
