Will the ACCC even allow this? Probably if they kept the Velocity points option open for those who don’t want to defect.

In that case why not use your FB points to buy flights on QF? FB just acts as a travel agency with each FB point worth 0.5c. I don't see any reason why Qantas flights bought at FB should not count as paid QF flights.
You point out a key difference here, in that Woolies rewards are more about collecting points, and Flybuys are more into being a travel agency. So you can imagine that they are interested in more direct access to both Domestic and International flights.

Will be interested to follow. It seems to me that Qantas don't like "transfer at your will" type partners, generally only set and forget with CCS, the Woolworths option being generally to transfer all points and then automatically when you hit 2k, etc.

I imagine up to 120 SCs would be a very big deal for some.

Surely FB are not so stupid to believe all the QF blarney & their FF Pesos !
Case in point, QF wanted zillions of FF Pesos to fly 2 one way in J class BNE/PER. For way less points with SQ (plus a small top up from VA) I got 2 one way J class PER/SIN/DXB. 13 hours v 5. All the SQ points were pre-covid which SQ extended, that is what earns customer loyalty Mr Joyce !
If they want to change try SQ.

No way! Qantas redemptions are hard enough even for QFF members, and redemption rewards for FB points would be at the bottom of the heirarchy. Qantas is highly discriminatory as to who is entitled to first dibs on the most sought after redemptions.
The casual flyer of today (which FB would have a disproportionaly high number) is also unaware of how dreadful Qantas now is, still thinking of the long-gone glory days when it was really something.
Also QF redemptions need more points and have higher carrier-imposed charges than Virgin, something not likely to change.

Wouldn't such a deal between Qantas and Flybuys have ramification for anything signed between Qantas and Woolworths? I just can't imagine there not being a clause with Woolworths that stops Qantas from having a deal with their main competitor.
Has been a couple years since I last did the Anti Competitive Compliance training modules at work…. but what you’re describing defiantly rings some bells as to not be allowed…. you cannot pressure or force your suppliers to deal exclusively with you, to the explicit exclusion of your competitiors.

I could be horribly wrong.. and I’m probably thinking of price-fixing….. and definitely time I did the training modules again.. 😀

The grail for me would be if both WW & Coles allowed transfer to either VFF or QF, like some CC programs do…. you can accumulate a heap of Coles or WW points and when you need to spend them… transfer to whomever suits you at the time. Likely would never happen. But if they asked me the survey… that would be my answer.

It's just a research survey......many companies research all types of scenarios to gauge sentiment.

I highly extremely doubt there'll be any movement in current standing deals.
