I am flying range of 9W flights later this year.
The return MEL - SIN is in QF metal but a jet airways ticket.
The flights later in the trip are still 9W but on Jet airways metal eg DEL - KTH, DEL - CMB

I have had conflicting reports wether i can receive QFF miles and/or Status credits for each of the legs.

Also, is it possible to setup the 9W flights within my QFF login as an itinerary?

Thank you

flying on 9W i am pretty sure you need to have a QF codeshare flight number not a 9W.

My trip to Delhi last year had the flight number as 9W on the BP but it said "sold as QF3955" in the additional info. In the itinerary it said QF3955 though. I received points and SC's for it.

Not necessarily; a 9W flight number will qualify for points;
Frequent Flyer - Earning Points - Fly - Airline Partners

From my experience unfortunately the site is a bit misleading. Even though it say at the top that you can earn on 9W flights, the 3rd bullet point in the notes at the bottom of the page comes into it;

Note

  • Points are not earned when travelling in classes other than those specified.
  • Cabin bonus is applied to the base earn rate for each individual flight you take.
  • Points are not earned on codeshare flights operated by an airline other than Qantas.
Recently I've flown both;

an Air India flight sold as 9W and operated by Air India, and and Air India flight sold as QF and operated by Air India. With the QF codeshare I got the points and SC's, with the 9W flight I didn't.

So, I would suggest on your MEL-SIN flight because you are flying QF metal and it is ticketed as a 9W flight you will get points and SC's for it, but your other 9W flights on Air India you won't.

Where does the OP say that they are flying on Air India? As far as I can see, the OP will get the points as it is all 9W operated flights, apart from the QF codeshare. Depending on the flight number it was sold to you as depends on what you will end up receiving I believe.

Hi, I'm also in a similar situation looking at flights to, within and from India this summer. All flights are Jet Airways (no codeshares, except for the QF legs to and from PER/SYD respectively).

As far as I understand it, we can collect QFF points on Jet Airways so long as Jet Airways is not codesharing with another carrier...

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

If it helps, I am currently in DEL, flew here from SIN ( BNE > SIN on QF051) the 9W017 flight, returning on the QF3954 flight. Now 9W017 was also QF3955 and QF3954 will also be 9W018.

Once they post the points and/or SC for both legs I will have an answer for you, once again, I flew SIN to DEL on 9W017 and the return leg, tomorrow morning in fact, will be on QF3954.

Oh, and was upgraded at the gate on the 9W017 flight so first time for me in J (Premiere) and very nice it was too, I could get used to that

Did 9W offer paid upgrades at checkin :?:

yes they did, on the DEL to SIN leg at check in they offered me a "special deal" of an upgrade to Premiere (Business) for R15,000 or approx A$300 but it wasn't offered on the SIN to DEL leg but then again I had already had checked in at BNE and already had my BP.

sat in the QP in SIN enjoying a quiet glass waiting for QF052.....

Thanks for that. It may be of use in January.

Dunno about at checkin straitman, but JetPrivilege members are able to apply for cash upgrades as per LINK 2,000 and 1,000 INR per upgrade sounds good!

looks like thats only for flights inside India, no mention of the DEL to SIN sector.

okay, the DEL to SIN leg ticketed as QF3954 operated by Jet Airways, codeshare as 9W018 has already shown up on my activity statement with 25 SC's and 2580 base points in Economy. Now I wait for the SIN to DEL to post.

Doh! My bad! I meant Jet not Air India. :oops:

I wouldn't expect any [-]points or [/-]SC from the 9W flight number.

From the QF website:

Based in Mumbai with affiliate Jet Airways Konnect flies to over 60 destinations, including an extensive Indian domestic network and over 20 international cities.
When flying on eligible Jet Airways fares and flights with a 9W flight number, you can:
earn points, and
earn a Cabin bonus.

okay, its finally posted, no SC's, no status bonus, only points

the gate upgrade from economy into premiere (business) didn't get me a cabin bonus either, wasn't expecting it but fingers were crossed :p
