FJ are currently offering a $1200 special which looks alright to me in Economy. What's the QFF SC earn like?

It can't be worse than the ****ty QF 767 out of SYD or God forbid JQ!

mel-nan-hnl.
2405 miles + 3176 miles to HNL
25 SC + 25 SC= 50 SC one way / 100 return.

Note a stopover is required in NAN each way ... not too bad a place to rest overnight, but you'll need to factor in the accommodation cost.

FWIW, the equipment on Air Pacific:

MEL-NAN B767
SYD-NAN B737 and B747
NAN-HNL B737

So......if you get the 737 flights, then yes, it can be worse.

Personally I'd fly BNE-HNL on Strategic (Air Australia) on their A330 for a cheaper price.......if you can actually get their website to work.

The best answer to the question will depend upon the starting location. The strategic option is not so good when starting in MEL.

Do they not use the 747 NAN-HNL?

I think the 747 does NAN-LAX-NAN as well as NAN-SYD-NAN. I've only priced tix with them to HNL, but the J selection was definitely not a 747 for the dates I selected.

There are some reasonable places close to the port.

Accor? Quite reasonable with pick up service. Need to research if anyone is interested.

Air Australia (Strategic) is due to commence a direct service twice weekly MEL-HNL from next month.
