Flying back to Australia from BKK, Lounge still closed?

Hi Guys,

Flying back to Australia on the weekend coming up from BKK via Business class. I noticed on the Singapore Airport , it states the Krisflyer Business lounge is closed, What happens then? Do we get to use another lounge? Anyone flown back recently can fill me in on this? IS it close to where the planes depart from?

The SilverKris lounge has been relocated to Terminal 3 closer to the A gates while the Terminal 2 SilverKris is closed.

It gets very crowded early morning and late afternoon peaks

Krisflyer Gold (for FF passengers travelling economy) is closed
And the new First class lounge is not yet opened.

In the past the SilverKris rather than Krisflyer Gold was the first and business lounge. Confusion because people assume Silver is less than Gold.
Moving forward into the future SilverKris will be the lounge for premium status and business class passengers and the First class passengers will go to the new First Class lounge (whatever the name will be)

To answer your question, SilverK should be opened unless it is temporarily closed for some reason
You can easily travel between terminals at SIN using the monorails.

If you are talking about the lounge at BKK, then not sure what the policy is, whether they redirect you to another lounge (like they do in BNE at the times the BNE lounge is closed), or issue a voucher.

But in any event you are entitled to use the Thai business lounge as part of star alliance. Which is probably where they’ll direct you.

Sorry , I meant the Singapore Business lounge in the BKK airport. It says it is closed as well as yeah i noticed a lot of the lounges in Changi airport is closed too. I will be in Changi airport in the night around 11:30pm but only have 1hr 15 min transit. Hopefully its enough time to quickly get some use out of the lounge. I will be in BKK around 6pm.

My departing flight from Singapore to Sydney is SQ231. Can I find out ahead of time which terminal it will be flying out of, hopefully Terminal 3 if thats where the only available silverkris lounge is.

Yes, 1:15 should be enough time, if flight is time. Gates close strictly 10 mins before departure, so as long as you reach the gate about 20-25 mins before the flight is due to depart then you will be fine. Security is at the gate, but most likely everyone in the line (if any by then), for security will be your flight, except at share gates where sometimes there will be another much later flight, in which case security allow you to queue jump.

The new "Krisflyer Gold" lounge (for those travelling in economy who hold KF, VA, or star alliance gold status) is due to open this Friday, so hopefully the "Silver Kris" lounge that you can access as a business class passenger will be quieter than it has been over the last few months at that time of night - although it is still the evening peak for European departures.

You'll more than likely be directed to one of Thai Airway's lounges at BKK.
