We're Qantas WP frequent flyers looking at booking with Air NZ a return trip to Queenstown. We know that Air NZ now does some direct flghts in and out of HBA but these don't work for us as they go in and out via AKL with in one case a 13 hour layover.
There is a perfect itinerary on the ANZ website that goes HBA-MEL-ZQN and return: HBA-MEL is with Qantas (QF flight code) and MEL-ZQN is with Air NZ.
My question (which sounds rather trivial but is quite important to us) is: if we go ahead and book this will we be able to make seat selections for the QF legs of the journey (we know we will be able to with the Air NZ legs)?
Anybody had experience of a similar situation? Thanks.
