"...what do you make of this???"

I actually think Top Secret is a much better movie (amazing how many people have never heard of it!) but Flying High is certainly up there...

..and I now have to admit that - as the thread starter.... I nodded off on the couch while reading and forgot to set up the recording!!!

Top secret is only good to see a young Val Kilmer

This quote from from the sequel actually:
Simon: Gentlemen, I'd like you to meet your captain, Captain Oveur.
Clarence Oveur: Gentlemen, welcome aboard.
Simon: Captain, your navigator, Mr. Unger, and your first officer, Mr. Dunn.
Clarence Oveur: Unger.
Unger: Oveur.
Dunn: Oveur.
Clarence Oveur: Dunn. Gentlemen, let's get to work.
Simon: Unger, didn't you serve under Oveur in the Air Force?
Unger: Not directly. Technically, Dunn was under Oveur and I was under Dunn.
Dunn: Yep.
Simon: So, Dunn, you were under Oveur and over Unger.
Unger: Yep.
Clarence Oveur: That's right. Dunn was over Unger and I was over Dunn.
Unger: So, you see, both Dunn and I were under Oveur, even though I was under Dunn.
Clarence Oveur: Dunn was over Unger, and I was over Dunn.

You have clearance, Clarence.
Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?

Thanks for that quote. My bad.

However, this godie:

Over Macho Grande?

No, i dont think i'll ever get over macho grande......

and I certainly never want to have THAT sort of drinking problem

I highly recommend the Alan Parsons album, On Air. It's a concept album entirely about flight, and musically it's really good - soft progressive rock (except for one techno track). See the track list here:

Welcome to AFF!

It’s a good job I have 16 of his albums, hadn’t realised it was about flight, been a while since I listened to any of it.

An AP tragic!. Had no idea he had released so many albums. I used to have a copy of I Robot somewhere...haven't seen it in years...good album.

I did read the synopsis and had to laugh at it’s absurdity. The Graham Norton Show and Later with Jools Holland is also on tonight, so may watch them instead :)

Well I watched it and still had a laugh.Limited choice here in Northern Tassie with an old non digital set.

Did anyone notice that Peter Graves (Captain Oveur) died last week?
The radio mentioned his fame as a result of Mission Impossible but also playing "Captain Ovyeeur" in the movie 'Airplane' released here as Flying High. That was the newsreader's pronunciation.
Vale!

I still laughed a lot at FH2 back when I saw it, although of course it wasn't as good as the original. I bet I'm the first person to use those words.

I remember watching FH2 as a kid and seeing at the end of the movie how they were planning a release of FH3 ... I was sooo excited. I must of been easily pleased as a kid.

I ended up watching the start and found it not dissimilar to the other one.

I saw that too, it was nice timing by TEN to have both movies on, though the first was before he died. I found it kind off odd when I saw the report of his death on the news that the scene they played was where he asks the kid if he’d even seen a grown man naked. I’m sure someone will tell me what hidden meaning that has in relation to his career?

Hi all,

I ended up watching it while packing for my trip last night and must admit, although I rubbished it earlier, it still made me chuckle in a few parts.
