Hi,

Which would be the better transfer city flying J MEL-LAX? Or rather, which has the better lounge? we are looking at going mid-Feb!

Thanks! Not a Platinum member unfortunately - this is our first business class flight with Virgin as we've been saving up the points for our move to LA! I thought the Sydney lounge was a temporary one at the moment/under renovation?

Whoops, I missed that you posted in the Virgin thread. I thought (without thinking ;) ) that you were referring to Qantas.

Someone with way more knowledge of the Virgin lounges will give better advice.

Neither is ideal (MEL is actually a nice airport to transit!).

If you are considering lounges, transit SYD. They are redoing the NZ lounge and I understand VA LAX pax have access to the much better EY SYD lounge for the next few months?

Thanks. Ideally we wouldn't transit at all, but since they scrapped the direct MEL-LAX flights, we have no choice :( I will call and double check we get access to the EY lounge :)
