Oh yeah, and my SYD-MEL was a DJ but my MEL-HBA is a VA! Well on the boarding pass at least, didn't have time to look at the boards

And they spell out Platinum in full, now that's got to be a good thing surely :)

Got to SYD airport at 16:20 for 17:10 flight SYD-OOL. No issues at all and appeared to go smoothly. Have an OOL-SYD return this weekend so hopefully things continue smoothly.

I reckon it will be one of those days that if anything can go wrong it will.
Were you referring to me? I cannot think of anything that went wrong apart from flying SYD-OOL and now on train to BNE. ;)

My children were on that flight as unaccompanied minors. Smoothly? They mustn't have screamed as loud as usual! :p

I was in 1F! ;)

There were some children screaming a little 4-5 rows back but the 3 Crowns drowned out the noise very nicely....

VA697 is now over an hour late. I guess at least I'm not in the back of the plane lolHad a good view of gate 4 for a while now

Fruitcake, I think we're both here -- just got in to the BNE lounge myself.

Didn't spot your post - but my wife and I were in the lounge until 1800. Lack of a boarding call whilst the estimated departure time remained at 1800 left me curious, so we walked down to the gate. They were waiting for ~20 people to make it through check-in. We boarded ~1820, and then a conga line of staff bearing a sequence of incomplete passenger manifests started parading down the aerobridge. But eventually the new system spat out an accurate manifest, we got under way at 1900.

We then took the scenic route to SYD to avoid a big line of thunderstorms, arriving at 2145:

The weather delay is obviously unavoidable but given how smooth the rest of the Sabre-related experience was and regular updates from the crew the manifest issue didn't worry me too much. The complimentary shoulder massages being offered in the lounge certainly helped ease any angst my wife might have other felt about the delay!

Now if only they will being the VFF website online - it's not the 12th anymore.

Will have to chat with the project team as they are in the building next to me. Will miss some of them but not the ones who stole my carpark on regular ocassions (even though amply signed) or walked around on their mobiles

My first VA flight MEL to SYD tonight 5pm. Couldn't believe no one lining up in bag drop/check in line. All normal in MEL lounge, the female cleaner was doing her thing in the male toilets (when is she not?) however they had a team of masseurs giving free massages plus drum stick ice creams. I was happy anyway but this was good. Should be a permanent thing

Lots of delays out of Brisbane tonight, mainly as a result of delayed incoming flights, we ended up departing at 7.30pm for a 5pm scheduled flight.

Massages and packs of Spotted Cow cookies being handed out in the lounge.

FA was very apologetic and then continued to waffle on about "the integration of our two systems is not going as smoothly as planned, we are trying to roll two systems into one because the old ones couldn't handle our expansion, lets hope they made the right choice" (exact words)
