Wondering if anyone has properly looked into flying the original 1947 Qantas "Kangaroo Route". This is, according to the internet, Sydney to London with stops in Darwin, Singapore, Calcutta, Karachi, Cairo, and Tripoli.
I started trying to price it but sites like google flights and skyscanner won't even let you input that many segments using the multi-city function. Of course I could halve it and price up two separate multi-city bookings, or go even more granular, looking for each segment separately....and I might do just that!
But thought there's a good chance someone else has looked into this in (relatively) recent times and reported back their findings here. If so, I'd be very interested in reading up on that before covering the same ground.
Yeah, I suppose this is pretty much a hypothetical/fantasy travel plan for me. I do think it would be genuinely really fun to research, plan and take all these flights, and decide whether to roughly keep to the original schedule or space it out with more layovers...amongst other questions.
In short - I'd be thankful for a link if anyone remembers any threads covering this topic. Or external articles for that matter. [I did try to search through the forums but found nothing.]
