Flying to Honolulu in comfort.....which airline is best?

From Perth I’d use NH.

From the east coast both hawaiian airlines and qantas will offer full flat beds.

There is no way I want to go Jet Star for that distance. Sixty minutes once taught me that.

From Perth I'd be tempted to book with JAL which would take you on a codeshare on CX metal as far as HKG, then either JL or CX metal to Tokyo, and JL on to HNL.
There are also routings available with codeshares on QF metal via SIN or SYD instead of HKG but the HKG option looks better to me.

Air NewZealand seems to work ok out of the east which we can do without epic flight layovers

Agree. Just don't do it.

HA then QF for me.

Also been with JAL and that is fine, but the long way around for me from SYD.

We are flying back from HNL to SYD on HA. We are looking forward to it, although some have said the seats are too narrow. Also the timing is good for us to catch our hopper flight from Lanai, and still get into Sydney somewhat reasonably.

Except when the NAN-HNL is operated by a 737 Fiji Airways (FJ) #820 ✈ FlightAware (which I think is the regularly scheduled aircraft for the route).

On one airline yes.
There are options to fly on a combination of QF/CX/JL though.

Had same thought planning. Us even from Melbourne choose to go J Hawaiian via BNE.
Going in March.
Have read seats slightly narrow as it's a 2-2-2 layout, but still flat lie need so can't be too bad. Love the Hawaiian theme in board.

We also learned, too late that apparently, that on the A330, 2C and 2G are the best seats to book from a leg room perspective. I think its because all the other seats have a dreaded foot cubby, and I like to kick and flip in my sleep.

I've done the trip to Hawaii about 15 or so times the last 2 years (from Sydney). Flown both Hawaiian and Jetstar. The ONLY reason I would EVER choose jetstar is if the flights are incredibly cheap because I go so often. Dreamliner seats are way smaller than the ones on Hawaiian.

OP says they are wanting to fly in business which I have no experience with, but comfort plus on Hawaiian is worth it if you can upgrade with points. Usually they are pretty empty too so you can manage to get a spare seat next to you. The extra legroom is quite a lot. Otherwise I found the seats are the same as any other 2-4-2 flying between Oz and EU. Didn't find them narrow at all, but I guess they are a different plane flying out of Sydney as opposed to BNE. I'm 171cm (tall for a girl I guess) and average build.
