I have quite a lot of QFF, VFF and SQ points (I figured it would be easiest to post in the Qantas forum though I realise it will differ by airline, etc.)

I'd like to take a flight with a friend to Europe who is a much less fortunate situation than myself and therefore use some of my points from one of these (QFF, VFF or SQ) programs for both of our tickets. There would be no exchange of money; this is simply a gift to a good friend. Do either Qantas, Virgin, Singapore Airlines or any other airline permit this? I don't want to get my account suspended because they see points used and two different surnames on the tickets?

Otherwise, do any airlines allow transfers to another FF account? I know they try to prevent point sales but perhaps some airlines or programs are more open others.

You can create a redemption nominee for Singapore airlines and that is very legit.

My understanding is…

Qantas: you cannot use your points for anyone who is not a relative. You can transfer points only to relatives.
Virgin/Velocity: You can use your points for anyone, even if they are not a relative. You can only transfer points to relatives.
Singapore/KrisFlyer: You can use your points for anyone, but you need to add them to your list of Redemption Nominees first. You cannot transfer points.

Of course you also have the option of transferring points between Velocity and KrisFlyer, at a 1.55:1 rate.

Singapore is fine. Virgin too. Qantas need to be a relative, by the rules of the program
