I think it could be a new Q promo, for single travellers they send an extra attractive FA to sit with you on the flight to keep you company.

Even better if I could use points for this promo :D

Did you see the person in the end?

Reminds me of when an employer had made separate booking herself & employee DRW/ASP. Somehow she did OLCI for the employee only & took the copy of the boarding pass with her to the airport bypassing checkin as she only had carry on.

Employee then arrives at checkin with a bag & when told she'd already checked in online replied "my boss already checked me in". A quick ID check confirmed her drivers licence matched the name in the booking so a boarding pass was reprinted & given to her along with her baggage receipt.

Employer boards first (with employees OLCI b/pass) then when employee goes to board with the reprint she gets the dreaded beep but when gate agent checks her seat number in the system against her boarding pass there was no change so the assumption was made that the gate reader must've scanned it twice as it was prone to do at the time.

Suddenly there's two people holding a boarding pass for the same seat although under the one persons name. The employer then realised her mistake of not actually checking herself in online.

It was a full flight so as the employer had 'now showed' a standby passenger had been onloaded in her place so ground staff had to reopen the flight, offload the staff pax plus his two bags then checkin the employer before closing the flight again.

The more the airline puts the onus on the pax to checkin etc the higher the likelihood of something going wrong.

A couple of years ago I logged on & found myelf in someone else's account. I rang QF pronto & they were not able to see any problem with my account / bookings. Requested I do a screenshot & send to them. Thanked me a lot for my trouble.

I guess I could have created some mischief while I was there, but why would I want to do that? (would I want to be sitting next to an incontinent vegan in a window seat at the front after they had the wrong meal for them?? Hah! not this little black duck)

I can see no reason for me to ask for any compensation for something like this. The poor maligned IV on the other hand could have a beef here.
