Freddie Awards: Velocity to lose 'Best Redemption Ability' title?

Nothing. The demonstration was that there are people who have a fervent or learned opinion that is not reflective of the popular opinion, much to their surprise.

I was waiting for someone to point out that potentially there is not much good in believing the Freddies because it is based on a popular vote which doesn't involve total participation (also like US elections), but eh.

Finally, if we must be really, really accurate, according to the popular vote of frequent travellers (and even then, not really because we don't actually ask for their opinion, we just get them to merely vote), VA has the best reward availability.

It's flawed because of the popularity, and it's also not weighted by program size. So a program with 100M members which gets 1M votes will win over a program with 5M members with 500K votes.
Award availability could be calculated by inventory levels over time, but that would come with additional cost and overhead

And on that note.... congrats to Velocity. It will be a while before their next award...

Words of wisdom!

My money is on a lot longer than that.

As a serious question, why do you say that? It has been five years in a row now, so unless something significant changes, why would the outcome next year be any different.

This thread could be used as a 'roll call' of some of the biggest VA haters on AFF. So the comments here are not representative.

I think maybe VA just did a better job of "getting out the vote" than others. I voted for them previously, but due to the reduction in availability on their flagship route (LA) I changed my vote to KF this year.
