That is because they change card numbers when they are re-issued or you attain a new tier level - and their systems aren't smart enough to update the HMS/booking systems with the new number.

This is a problem for quite a few people, so I'd suggest calling their APAC server number to log the problem and beg them to make sure this is resolved so it doesn't happen for anyone else ever again.

oooh good tip. I'd never have picked that up.

my 7th and 16th number changed when i went from gold to plat. Wonder why they don't just keep the number the same.

I tried the second link first and got the message that the promo code wasn't available. I used the original first link (the German version) and that worked just fine. So for those people having trouble give that a shot.

Yes I used thw German link too. Though a few ppl have had success with the English version so try them all

This doesn't make sense... as my old number now has no bookings against it either... less they cancel that number the moment you get upgraded.

I have a stack of bookings on my old entry level card - which never made it to gold - now all my gold bookings that are confirmed but in the ether again.

I requested old bookings be moved to my gold card but was just told to present my card when I arrived and get the bookings attributed to that card. I mean how am I going to get a spanky awesome plat level upgrade if they don't know I am now a spanky plat? By the way - that is what I am calling WP's - SP's.

For Oz residents, unless you are staying at an Sofitel, the only real/documented benefit of Platinum A|club status is the 100% "accelerator" bonus points.

Of course, a platinum number may assist for upgrades at mecures/Novotels etc. should they be running short on rooms.

I am at 100% upgrades (ok one from one) from Gold. Hope it continues now I am SP.

Didn't work.for me. Apparently my email address doesn't match my a club number. Strange....

Edit: Tried again using the "short" version of my number (ie the last 8 digits) and it was accepted.

I tried the 2nd link in the OP first, then the first link and thankfully, could read the German anyway - then noticed the change to "English"....

Mine is under consideration...no auto email to Plat

Yes, I got this too. I think its just a funny way of saying 'wait, we're processing' because I just got my Plat confirmation through via email a moment ago (took maybe 5 minutes).

Not sure.. it didn't say anything about having to stay 1 night anywhere that i could see. What i'm interested in is if this will over write the previous requirement to stay 1 night.

Platinum welcome email say the Platinum card is in the mail.
