I have got permission from admin to post this thread.
I am a member of the Britain-Australia Society (a social networking organisation) in London. There is a free event arranged by the Society at the Australian High Commission on the Strand in London. It is "A reception to launchRobert Wainwright’s book, “Sheila” [will be] held in the Downer Room of AustraliaHouse with superbwines from The Lane winery generously donated by George Vestey and the eventsponsored by Allen & Unwin." Here is the link to this event - http://britain-australia.org.uk/events/event/shiela-the-australian-ingenue-who-bewitched-british-society/ It may be of interest for Australians who areliving & working in London, or just happen to be in London at this time(event date is Monday 24th February 2014 from 6pm to 8pm).
If you would like to attend, you can either become a member of the Society or send me a PM and I will include you as my guest. The Society has a number of interesting events this year - eg a reception in March with the Duke of Edinburgh (the Society's patron) limited to 100 people [this one will cost]. Check out the Society's website for its history, news and events.
