Free QFF membership offers?

Hi. I've previously asked about CCs for my son who is travelling to work in Canada and got many great responses. Thanks.
Apparently because he is not currently working, banks will not give him a new CC.
But I want to gift him quite a few QF points.
What is his best way to achieve QFF membership so I can do this please?

If he has a Canadian address he can join for free, otherwise a Woolworths EDR (everyday rewards card) is the easiest way to a free membership.

There are many links around that do not require goinf anywhere near a Woolworths EDR card. http://www.qantas.com.au/freejoin is one.

This can net you 10,000 bonus points but it's for NZ residents only (i think).
