Well I'm in the US and got the email at 4:30am Adelaide time and the tickets were all gone by the time I logged on 2 hours later, well done.

Iain, Mrs NM and I will see you there. I saw this thread before the email and managed to score a double pass for us.

It is a good thing someone posted here. Aside from coming overnight, surf control decided to send it to the spam bin :( Tickets would have been well gone by the time Igot to it...

I should be at that screening as well. Managed to get a double pass. Thanks to Febs for posting it initially - My email didn't come through until around 2am or so.

I managed to get some tickets to the Brisbane one as well so it will be good to meet some AFF members. :p

Thanks Febs for posting.

Seems like an AFF 'DO' may be brewing in BNE ... :D

I might have two spare ones if you're volunteering on coming Serfty? :D
Not this time, thanks to the OP, I managed to snaffle a brace or two for the Melbourne session at the Jam Factory in South Yarra ...

Who else in Melbourne is going?

Missed out on the tickets so no go for me. Should have logged onto AFF / checked emails Tuesday night and might have been able to grab some.

So, who is going from Perth??

( I should be,unless I have forgotten about it by August - seems so far away at the moment)

they never offer them in NZ
It costs less for NZ residents to join the QFF program so QF excludes them from some important promotions like this one. ;)

Allow for NZ GST and exchange rate and not much cheaper.

I don't know how much these things actually cost Qantas. Most of them seem to be preview screenings through the distributors. I am not sure if Qantas pays, orit is something offered to them by the distributors.

I am, it would have been nice to have had dinner at the Lonestar, but hey this is Perth.

If I had to guess I would say they would be given to Qanats for free. Imagine how much Qantas pays in royalties for showing movies on their flights.

OK, Back in May I managed to get two double passes for this Wednesday night's Die-Hard 4 preview in Melbourne.

Two things ...

1) Has anyone been to one of these previews before. The voucher indicated 7pm, but what time does the movie start? Also, what else is involved? - Is it simply a matter of getting the seat tickets with you QFF card then sitting down to watch the movie, then leaving?

2) I have 2 spare if anyone want them; please post here if interested.

My experiences from preview showings is that the movie starts at the time listed on the ticket; no tedious adverts to sit through

Just show ticket n go in, just like any other movie which has unallocated seating

Haven't been to a QF one before, but have been to several radio station previews (Simpsons Movie last Wednesday night, actually :)).

If you get in about 10-15 before the scheduled start time, you should be fine. In my experience they usually start about 10-15 after the scheduled start time, and (as Dave said) - no ads, they just get straight into it.

Cheers,
- Febs.

PS: Anyone else going to Chuck and Larry next week? I'm looking forward to that one. (Big Adam Sandler fan)

Well, in that case I can't make it. :(

I now have two double passes available ... please post if you are interested.

From what I remember, the Spiderman 3 preview was show printout, surrender mobile phone, get wanded by security, then go in. :)

(Oh, and there was an ad for yet another penguin cartoon movie)
