Hi all,

I had a few of these which I've given out to friends who are travelling at the moment, but I've got one left. It's a single-use, one-person pass valid for any Qantas Club (domestically or internationally), provided you're travelling on a Qantas or Jetstar flight that day.

It's the same type you get free from AMEX (with certain cards) or when you make QFF Silver.

Free to the first person who posts in this thread (I'll contact you via PM to get your address, then send it out). Please note it expires at the end of Jan09 so it's only good if are travelling on a QF/JQ flight between now and the end of Jan.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Wow, you guys jump on these complimentary passes fairly quick. :( I'd be more than happy to oblige the use of anyone else's QC Pass which may expire by end Jan 09 as I have some domestic travel soon with a long layover in Melbourne. Happy New Year fellow AFF members :p

I've got a couple of the same invites from an Amex promotion and don't think they'll be used in the next couple of weeks. To make things fair I will auction them to the highest bidder but the bidding process is that you provide a link to your most amusing or useful post on FF and I very subjectively decide who is the most deserving. Or if you are a newbie maybe just make up a sob story because I'm a soft touch. Deadline is COB tomorrow (Tuesday) unless I am shutdown by QF lurkers who think this breaches the rules. In that case I'll just put them on flea-bay!

I gave away a free pass away about 1 month ago to someone here on Frequent Flyer.
Have a 2 year Corp QP membership. Reached silver again, and got another free pass + another silver Qantas Card. But, l already have a QP card which is vaild for 2 years. If l were a shareholder, that's a blatant waste of money and wouldn't be happy with Qantas just sending mail and printing cards that won't get used for the sake of it.
Plus, I didn't even get a thank you from the person who recieved the free pass. Last time l do favours for anyone here on frequent Flyer!

It's disappointing your generosity was not acknowledged in an appropriate manner by the recipient, but I wouldn't judge the entire forum by that one experience. We're not all rude buggers!

As far as sending out the Comp passes and cards for retaining Silver, it may well cost QF more to purposely not send them out to those Silvers who have also QP membership.

Don't you hate that; I sent off a book to someone from Flyertalk in the US back in about 2003, didn't get a reply of thanks or anything.

But one way to look at it, is that if you do good for something then it will eventually come back to you in other ways. The amount of great memories and places that I have met people in different parts of the world far outways the cost of the book and postage.

Delta ran an advert campaign that was titled "Good Goes Around" so I agree with that philosphy.

That surprises me, in my short time here on AFF my impression is that most forumites are generous in their advice and I would have assumed also generous in their thanks.

Don't despair, I'm sure the extra karma will come in handy at some stage!

Yeah, l always try to look at the positive. what comes around, goes around. And that philosophy had done good for me in life so far. guess l just get dissapointed when some people take it for granted. Maybe l am tooooooo kind sometimes.
I'm not going to judge the whole forum on that one act, but it's going to make me think twice, that's for sure.

Hi Moody, were there any takers for your more than generous offer.
We have a Feb departure & I'm sure I could think up a good story if required.

The problem is that the passes expire "end January 2009" so will be of little value to you in my experience. Then again there have been reports of some people encountering more sympathetic dragons so if you want to risk it (and there are no other takers) then you may as well have them. I'll wait a bit longer in case there is interest from someone actually travelling this month.

There is just no accounting for some peoples manners and upbringing,a good turn
will come your way,I am sure.:D

I thought they may have Jan expiry.
Maybe best to leave them for someone else.

Hi Moody,

If the passes are still available I would love 1 (or preferably 2).
I am going to Adelaide for the Tour Down Under and may get rather thirsty trying to keep up with Lance.
Unfortunately I am not pre-disposed to mirth & merriment and therefore my posts have usually been questions directed at the more informed people on the site.
On a sad note my flying days for work have evaporated along with my super and staff share value so anything to revive my "glory days" of FF status and QP membership would be appreciated.

Regards

I could use one on Monday, as I'm travelling with 2 from work, leaving me one guest allowance short. But in my own estimation I can't say I've been very helpful in the forum. Hence I'm going to take my chances with the dragons.

Now do I leave out my boss or the new boy. :-| ;)

Edit: strangely enough for travel from ADL. But I'll defer to Matthecat as I still have QP days ahead of me.

I have given away 2 QP passes to 2 different AFF'ers in the past few months and at both times both recipients were more than thankful to me for them.

Although I'm a relatively new guy here with 600 only odd posts, I made my decision to give them to those who have a decent post history (say above 30posts) rather than a person who's 1st or 2nd post is does anyone have a free QP pass?

Which is the way I've dealt with excess passes previously. People with a hand out looking for a pass without contributing anything are nowhere on my list.

All that said, quite a few years ago, I suspect I was stuffed over by a 'Frequent Flyer' when I gave them something for nothing. Not going to go into the details, but they know what they did and that I worked it out. Will always be remembered.

Always the best thing to do in my book - give to someone who has contributed.

(I can't even imagine what happened in Mal's case, but is always bad when you do something in good faith and get stuffed around in return)
