Is that a metric astronomical day, or an imperial astronomical day

I was born post '66 (or whenever) so "my earth days" are metric. I think the imperial day is a little longer :)lol::Dslower:D:D) for the older folk:rolleyes:

Hmm, now which side of '66 does that put me . Some would say the slowness comes from my state of residency rather than age, but maybe its a combination .

Yes, But I am living in the past (14:08 at time of writing) and I live in Wait Awhile.

On a side note, there shall be no digs from Dave Noble this week about me living in the past, as he has joined me:D

Yes, it is.

(i.e. they're both the same)

(although there is something to the longer imperial day since they used to get so much more done in the good old days.)

PER closes after the last departure of the night and re-opens at 4:30am.

That assumes that the last flight goes before 4.30am. Based on recent events, I would have thought that it is quite often open 24 hours - or do they lock up even if there's a delayed flight until 2 - 3 am ?

That is a earth astronomical day correct. But humans usually use "day" as "awake portion" of the astronomical day.
Unfortunalty for JohnK he experienced something like a 1am-6am PER Int/Dom transfer and the QP certainly was not open for much of the time he was there (& awake)!

And I almost booked SIN-PER-SYD again for my next trip as it was cheaper by S$100, ~A$75, than the direct SIN-SYD flight but then sanity prevailed and I booked the SIN-SYD direct flight as I realised I was going to waste 3+ hours waiting in the almost deserted PER international terminal before spending $25 in a taxi to get to the PER domestic terminal where I would agan wait for the 5:50am PER-SYD flight....

I'm sure I could make an educated guess without the vote. Particularly after late night drinks last night in Melbourne with one of your fellow moderators :!:
And he should know ... he attended my XX birthday. So you drink with him but didn't hang around for drinks with me in Melbourne last night .

You got it in one :!: :D

Sorry, didn't know you were going to be in Melbourne last night. Had to go home though as my body was in meltdown after the weekend in Hobart and then the extra night in Melbourne. Will you be in Canberra on Thursday or Friday nights as we'll be on the go again tomorrow morning :?:

now that is just a slack excuse. Meant I was left to my own devices in a strange city. Its a good thing there is a FLounge in MEL to look after and old soul.

Nope. I am in KL Thursday and Friday nights - again left to my own devices .

Posting from The Wing.

We have successfully avoided each other again :!: :D ;)

Yep - been there ... done that ... and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. You realise very quickly that there are 24 hours in a day and they are somehow all packed into the time between 1 am when you land at Perth and 4:30am when they open the QC.

Brutal!

Hmmm, been pointed out to me that this thread wandered off topic, back on topic and still trying to meander back off-topic again.

If there is nothing more to be said on-topic, perhaps this thread should be closed :?:

For those others who want to remain off-topic, why don't you wander over to the off-topic thread on Playground and continue your discussion there :-|
