Frustration with AA Q class fares not credited to FF account

Bugger. Just read this thread. I've got RDU-MIA-MCO booked in a fortnight and its in AA "W" class..so no earning QFF points. Might have to look at Upgrade+$150 change fee now.

Ok I bit the bullet, considering my original W class fares weren't that expensive, I've paid the change fee and taken the "instant upgrade" fare. Hopefully this will qualify as First for QFF SC's...

And of course when you book online with AA they don't tell you what letter it is that you're booking - you just choose Economy and book that.

That's interesting because when I booked a flight from LHR-JFK when I was living in London last year the booking code was quite clearly shown during the booking process, and of course having studied the earning table in T&C's, as I do before booking any flight with an airline I don't know rather than just assuming I knew that Q class was excluded.

What had me dirty though is I tried to booking using the US website, which gave me a fare and a fare code that was earning, but it wouldn't accept my Aussie credit card so had to use the Australian website where I could get the same fare, but just Q class.

My mate who goes to El Segundo occasionally has no problem getting their Aussie credit card accepted for payment on AA.com.

Ok can someone confirm this for me please:

I'm QFF Gold, Travelling RDU-MIA-MCO, in P class on American Airlines.
RDU-MIA is approximately 700miles = 90 SC's? and Points = 1575 = 700+525+350 (Base+Gold Bonus+Cabin Bonus)
MIA-RDU is approximately 200miles = 60 SC's? and Points = 450 = 200+150+100

Thats a heap of SC's for very little points! but I prefer the SCs anyhow.

SC's are correct (0->600->1200->2400 miles : 60->90->120->150 SC )
