Future of fly buys

Totally agree flybuys is pretty pointless. Just I'm not sure they have been bitten hard because if the loyalty program. Well maybe only that isn't reflected in the company performance. Great that they appear to be overhauling flybuys. I just think this will happen as a company improvement rather than a need to compete with EDR.

They have been focussed on fixing their core business (such as supply chain etc - you don't see as many empty shelves as you used to for example). Fixing the loyalty program has been on the todo list for a while.

That sounds like what I was trying to say.
Words do confuse me at times.

Fixing their supply chain?

What, they had a quiet word with Lindsay Fox?

There is snomething going on with flybuys as they were photographing a card for a story at work today.. haven't seen the details yet though..

Flybuys is fine by me.

They sell me a case of wine (13 bottles - yes thirteen) and give me 1,000 points. That means they give me a $10 discount with each case.

Seems pretty good to me.

Who cares about flying at such times?

It would seem to me that Coles / Westfarmers will use Flybuys to create their own version of the "Woolworths Everyday Rewards" - probably it will include the Coles Express discounts, and perhaps even FF points via Virgin?

Coles just bought out NAB's share. Just Google it (I haven't made enough posts to show you the link....)

Would they make the same mistake as Woolworths where we get the back of the EDR card scanned then pay on a point and a half Amex card?
I do love getting 2.5 points per Woolworths shopping dollar!

Why is that a mistake, it's a legitimate payment method??

It is a very generous deal and generally you could say Woolworths are thought of as cost conscious folks and were not previously regarded as "generous".
There is no one matching Woolworths so they live up to their stock market code WOW!

Except the CC points arent paid for by WOW but in fact by the CC company......

Now that would be a great contract to read to see how much each of the Bank and WOW chip in to run the scheme as it is way more expensive than those schemes run by the big four banks.

If you buy Coles Home Insurance, it's even better - triple fly buys points on the first $500/mth spent in Coles for a year:
Home insurance, home and contents insurance quotes | Coles Insurance
Earn FlyBuys with Coles Home Insurance | Coles Insurance

I'd say this probably marks the start of a re-launch...

At its most, that's only 400 points a month, and a maximum of 4800 points for the year.

It's reasonable, but less than many of their previous promotions before they gave up. In dollar terms, it's not that great either - particularly as it only comes in when you've been cross-sold to potentially buy that extra at Coles, i.e. they don't give you that bonus without further spending - $6000 extra to reach that bonus.
