I have FF Gold on Qantas. I've been flying Cathay more (being based in Hong Kong). I'm not sure what rate the status points get transferred to Qantas, or whether it's worthwhile switching to Cathay.
I normally only fly Cathay PE now (business is way too expensive post covid). I would probably do 4-6 round trips a year (personal flights).
Looking at full economy with Qantas, this could squeak me into 5 x 60 x 2 = 600 points to return Gold.
With Cathay, PE would give me 5 x 50 x 2 = 500 points, enough to get me to silverish. 6 would put me to Gold, which is similar to Qantas.
I'm a bit lost if I'm meant to book with my QFF or my Cathay membership number and where the status points go if I fly Cathay. This time it seemed to go to Cathay, but the gate staff changed my pass to have my QFF and was given lounge access.
This is probably a very noob question.
I used to always fly Qantas, or put my QFF or Asiana number (for SQ)
