Gate 46 at Sydney intl transfer

Hello just wondering if Virgin Australia is offering the international transfer at gate 46 Sydney domestic to international T1. I have a friend flying MEL-SYD-LAX on Delta and the MEL-SYD is booked under "DL" code operated by VA. The VA website is vague first stating that international transfers not offered and bags not through tagged but then it states it does...does anyone know for sure?

Still closed when I walked past a few days ago. Wouldn’t expect it to reopen until there are consistent VA services from Sydney Intl.

VA are not even through checking bags to international flights on a single ticket.

In the case of MEL-SYD-LAX, in MEL bags will only be checked through to SYD where you'll need to retrieve them yourself and make your own way to the intl terminal.

Interestingly, a VA ground staff was asking passengers disembarking from my domestic flight this morning if they were connecting to DL...

I was one of the last off so I don't think there is a bus as I didn't see anyone waiting...

It was completely closed Friday evening so I don't think the service is running.
