OK. Thanks. Wasn’t sure if it was just the Trivalent that was currently available.
We had the quadravalent done last week in an Adelaide pharmac_. SA had a very early flu season last year and husband developed it in early April so we were prepared this year. I didn't catch it from him.

Be interesting to see how their symptoms progress.

They are already into Day 9 and feeling better. They didn't post they were positive for a few days.

The loss of smell is a symptom of Covid 19.
Interesting development

"But new research has found an increasing number of young patients classified as asymptomatic share a common affliction — a loss of their sense of smell and taste, a condition known as anosmia or hyposnia (partial loss).

The data is so compelling that British experts are pushing for anosmia to be recognised as a symptom for “hidden carriers” facilitating the rapid international spread of COVID-19, the deadly pneumonia caused by the coronavirus.

Professor Nirmal Kumar, president of ENT UK — the umbrella body representing ear, nose and throat specialists — says anyone who develops anosmia should immediately self-isolate, even if they have no other signs of the disease."

The lupus lady who is positive is quite young. Having lupus she is more aware of her health and so fronted up early for testing. Even so it took a few "goes" to get tested.

Yes, when I did my flutracker survey yesterday one of the new questions was whether I had lost my sense of smell or taste in the last week.

Incidentally, according to that source the incidence of flu symptoms fell in the last week. Obviously too early to discern a trend, but nice if all the hand washing and social isolation yields a bonus dividend.

My uni is doing free flu vax again. My appointment isn't for 3 weeks though! Working from home as of today, but childcare is still open so the kids have gone.

I suspect that with the social distancing, the influenza season will be the best season by far.

So instead of Flu, we get Covid. It balances out in the end.

And it may be possible that the Australian 2020 influenza+covid combined mortality will be less than previous years Influenza only mortality.

For some strange reason I caught a little of the NZ PM press conference yesterday .,.. I think it was in-between naps

Anyway a comment she said pricked an interest - basically about NZ businesses using Australia distributers and NZ mail / packing delivery services. Apparently this is not fair and creates an unlevel playing field - according to her.

IIRC this is the same PM that is demanding that Australia ignore the citizenship of a criminal when its comes to NZ criminals, and by the way, can you guys pick up the social security tab for the 700,000 kiwis currently living or stranded in Australia .

Can you believe it!

Mine too, though not on site until May! Hoping they put on some earlier sessions.

i was supposed to get free flu vax at work next Monday (6th April) but as all our offices are now closed, apointments were cancelled and we were sent vouchers for Chemist Warehouse - earliest appointment I could get was 24th April, which coincidently is my Birthday - so I cant have a family dinner on my Birthday but I can get a jab.
