Well some apolitical news on Hydroxychloroquine. As I have said all along if the recommended doses are used serious side effects are rare.

The saliva test which will certainly be easier to perform.

Another of the newer vaccines progressing.

Though some more indirect evidence that vaccines won't be the magic bullet but more like the flu vaccine.'

And trials on convalescent plasma as treatment.

False news. HCQ is not useful against coronavirus according to peer reviewed evidence. Why do you keep pushing this barrow? Not at all professional behaviour.

Could you forget your politics for a while.
I did not say that HCQ was useful against Covid though prevention trials are still ongoing even here in Australia.
the article does not say it is useful against Covid.
But many in their opposition to HCQ have said how dangerous that HCQ is.
So this is what I said.

My response was not political but based on scientific evidence. You’ve been promoting HCQ since February. I don’t believe that is tenable.

I'm sorry that you just can't understand my posts.Point out where in that post you first replied to I said anything about the effect of HCQ on Covid.I in fact was presenting the science that refutes your view and several others here that HCQ is a dangerous drug.

On the media that Trump is being admitted to the Military Hospital. I did read that he had been feeling very fatigued and has a fever. Melania is well but with a cough and a headache but at home.

Based on current trends trtma may need to consume some humble pie.. we can also hope that it is consumed publicly for our edification…time will tell
Imo there is significant medical understanding of Hcq and the brouhaha from the naysayers is based on a tenet that the drug does not cure Covid and therefore has no use.

Exactly. It's not a cure. But serious studies on whether it is a good prophylaxis.

The positive list keep growing, with Bill Stepien, Trump’s campaign manager, one of the recent additions.

The Rose Garden event of Sep 26 seems to now be thought of as being significant in this cluster.

Having a bit of a browse around leads me to consider that my earlier positive thoughts about HCQ may have been a little fanciful… c'est la vie
Humble pie is perhaps on the menu for desert…..

Check the details. In the first case the trial was ended at 8 weeks as they couldn't get their sample size. It took me 3-4 months to get any benefit from the reduction in auto immune response needed. In the second trial the dosage per week was just either 400 or 800 mcg. My weekly dosage is 2800 mcg which is baseline for treatment. I'm still out on the jury.

I'm still out on the jury.
Indeed , and a fair "lay" position to hold.. but.. the hope seems to have faded somewhat as the science matures..... stuff happens….

What happened to the POTUS tangerine glow? Now looking rather pasty in recent photos. Is that COVID-related?

We commented on that yesterday. Two theories. He didn't have his makeup person available due to his Covid. Two - he is very unwell and maybe oxygen levels not so great so he's pasty.
