Cant always blame the public hospital for wait times.Public holiday in QLD today and I have just done an 8 hour Outpatient session and despite people being rung on Friday and Sunday and saying they were coming one didn't attend-though that is less than usual.

I was quite happy with today, my appointment was at 14:10 and I was seen by 14:40 and out by 15:10, so I didn't have to wait an hour, I don't know how it works, there were people there before me, but I was seen before them. Perhaps they were early, dunno.

I definitely can't/won't complain, as I have said previously, there is no way I could work in an environment like that, and I certainly admire anyone than can, mind you that goes for anyone working in a health related field. I definitely don't have the patience to work with 'people', I much preferred working with machines. Turn it off, turn it on, a reboot in effect, much easier.

Bank holiday here today, but so much going on at work so am working instead. Another bank holiday at the end of the month though, have a nice LHR-HEL-TLL journey booked in J, was just over £1/TP and get the AY A350 both ways LHR-HEL. So won't be working then at least, will be relaxing by the sea with a book!

I've had migraines since as long as I can remember and they've changed their pattern and I think I prefer the old way!

I still get the same 'warning' signs - weird feeling in my cheekbones, feeling anxious and then the aura starts.

Its always been that if I take meds at this point I can head it off to an extent. In the past, I'd still get a horrid pounding head but once it passed it was all over.

These days I don't really get the horrid head but a dull throb instead but have picked up nausea and a lethargy instead and now it's a two day event too. Next day I feel very washed out, a bit antsy and by the end of the day, I get the rebound pounding head :(

ETA - oh the salt craving too - hot chips from KFC tonight in the way home from work helped that.

Try A Little Bit of Relief for pain Johnk -
Works wonders.
I think we've had this discussion before. Not much pain relief works on me. This pain is non stop. Panadeine Forte is OK but i try not to take too much of it.

I wish someone would realise it is now winter and turn the heat on the airconditioning.

Oops. Meant to post that in TOTT.

Our little fur baby did need to go back to the emergency hospital for tonight, but the day vet suggested we do the transfer, rather than an ambulance, so I had a nice 1/2 hour cuddle with her before handing her over to medical staff again. They had put a nappy on her, because of her condition - she did look a bit silly and a cannula in her very tiny paw.

The day vet was fairly worried about her, but the emergency vet seemed to think she had improved since they last saw her.

Hopefully home tomorrow!

The day vet does not have overnight monitoring facilities?

....

Ours was turned on....walking around in shorts and t shirt. Tried to turn on the overhead fan but was howled down.

Apparently not - not for high care patients anyway. She is now home with a whole lot of medication and we have to go back tomorrow as her protein levels in her blood are still too low. However she has had something to eat and is settling down for a snooze with her brother. :)

Blood donations. At one point I was told I had some antibodies which were considered "favorable" for donations especially for younger children. No further explanation. That was before basal cell anomalies and a cardiologist who couldn't figure out my "electrical" issues (I seem to need to drink more water). So no more visits planned [or permitted] . I did qualify for the WA Red Cross "donor pen" award....

Just wandering

Fred

I did finally secure 4 months supply of my heart drug which has been completely out of stock with a supply date that keeps getting put further out date wise. The drug rep had some......but I had called close to 20 pharmacies without success.
I wanted to have certainty before we travel in the middle of May.
Apparently the whooping cough vax has been in zero supply to our local pharmac_ for many months which is just so hard to believe.

Hi Cove. Do you mind PM'ing me which medication it was so I know for my patients. To date I haven't had any patients tell me they've had difficulty with obtaining tablets. I'm just curious and it'd be good to know which so I could warn my patients too. If you would prefer not to I totally understand.
