Virgin Australia is pleased to announce their business class pyjama product with built in adult diaper from April 1 2025. We know our business class customers cannot always tell when the urge will come so this enhancement solves the problem of cartus interuptus.

I am always amused when the seat belt signs are turned off after takeoff and immediately people have to go to the bathroom. On short flights I always go before boarding. It’s the common sense thing to do.

I couldn't see a thread where general musings, experiences, and goings on be aired for VA, so I thought I start one. Kinda along the lines of the SQ Tips, Trips and Tales one.

Lucky Virgin Australia doesn’t serve any decent bubbles or this thread could easily end up hundreds of pages long with Connoisseurs arguing the availability and merits of each pour Maybe the upper echelon from VA’s high society club that demolish all the Pancakes and Ham ‘n’ Cheese Toasties can chime in instead.

Is it just me or has priority baggage been coughe recently (ADL/SYD mainly)?

I've had 8 flights recently last month where I've had to check in bags. Close to all flights the bags have come out middle to end.

I swear VA used to be excellent at this (cf QF). Although ... it has been a while since I've had to check bags outside the last month ...

My own theory on checked bags is that the earlier you check-in, the later the bag will arrive on the carousel, 'priority' or not. Led by experience, not observation and thinking is that the early checked bags will be amongst the early loads and go into the back of the container or hold.

I definitely agree with this. Connecting bags also seem to come out first too.

Mentioning what I posted in the VA Newbie thread the other day. Priority baggage never seems to work for me when I get a tag from the self check in kiosks. Not guaranteed, but there is a much higher success rate when the seperate orange priority label is attached by the staff. It would be good if those orange priority tags were made available at the self bag drops.

While I am inclined to agree, I barely made the cut off for a few of those flights, and still no difference ...

I just assumed they have 3 groups of bags, and they aggregate them per group.

1. Connecting bags (loaded last, come out first)
2. Priority bags
3. All other (maybe in some sort of order or reversed of when they checked in)

I travel business often for domestic and always Int’l and I’ve been Plat on Qantas for 15 years in Virgin for a couple of years. The rate of which my checked bag comes out in the first quarter shall we say, is low.

I always check in early.

My main negative experience is in Melbourne, where I think the unionised baggage handlers think it’s a way of ensuring those uppity elites get a good dose of Australian egalitarianism.

My recent experiences have been mostly good, no complaints, but there's so many priority pax and bags these days, it can feel like my bag takes ages to come out.

I did just have an instance where I didn't notice that an orange tag hadn't been attached, I usually like to watch them do this, but my bag came out first anyway (perhaps for the first time ever!). I did check in about 5 hours early as I was hoping for a fly-forward but J was full.
