Getting Both AZ & Pfizer

better position than a pharmacist in the same situation to manage "a reaction" to a vaccine.
True Anaphylaxis (obstructed airway and circulation collapse) from PZ is tracking about 2.5/10,000 - thought to be related to polyethylene glycol additive
AZ I think is lower but can’t remember the figure - Polysorbate additive or something similar.

Overall no higher than other Vax or antibiotics

Pharmacists, like all in healthcare are required to have First aid + CPR for their general registration. They would also have specific training in recognising anaphylaxis - as they are increasing being called to administer other Vax - like influenza. They would also maybe have a lot more adrenaline than Gp

Each group in healthcare like to protect their turf while invading others.

GPs think they are better than Nurse Practitioners who think they can do a GPs job but Nurse Practitioners think they are better than Nurses
Registered nurses think they are better than enrolled Nurses. But enrolled nurses can be trained to do an RN job.
And GP/Nurses think they are better than pharmacists who think they can do a GP/Nurse job
Basically protecting their turf while invading the turf of others.

I find the best people to keep the circulation going in a patient whose heart has stopped are not the doctors or nurses but the burly hospital orderlies - it’s a very single task orientated, and requires a lot of stamina and muscle power.

If you think you can maintain CPR for 30minutes then you have not done a real CPR. Even the burly orderlies are unable to do effective chest compressions for more than 1-2 minutes.

No point asking the middle aged Dr or RN. They likely would get a heart attack themselves

We’re drifting off topic but absolutely. When we run arrests, we have police officers do the chest compressions. The best scribing and communication with aeromedical I ever had was by a social worker

Im not about to get a jab at a chemist, when there is an option to get one from a nurse whose entire job is to give vacicnations all day so is more skilled at doing so.
You are so ridiculously mistaken in your views as to what the capabilities of various health professionals are.

I don't wish to personally attack you but feel I should also call this rubbish out so that others don't read your posts and for some reason believe it as truth.

I find your dismissal the skill and training of the nurses who work at the travel clinic* and do an amazing job in their specialty disrespectful. If you think a pharmacist whose primary job it is to dispense prescriptions is a superior choice for vaccination go ahead and make that choice, but that doesnt make it the right one for me nor for the millions of others who choose to get vaccinated by doctors and nurses.

* GP practice that specialises in travel medicine and womens health. GP consult confirms what jabs you need, full time nurses there give the jabs. Vaccines on are on site, no need to go to a chemist to pick up vaccines like with some small practices. Authorised to give Yellow Fever, which a pharmac_ can not administer in Australia plus heaps of other vaccines like rabies which pharmacists also dont give.

The Ignore button is your friend.
I've resisted using it as I find muting anyone to be closing my mind to debate and understanding the perspectives of others. Even if I disagree with them.

However having had my post completely misrepresented by the relevant poster, they have now indeed been placed on my ignore list. I have no desire to have a debate with someone who is obviously not open to rational debate.

But I'd rather keep it as a soft button, where nuances are possible...

It’s hard decision - especially when the risk is others may believe the incorrect information being posted about really important topics and so many people may have the poster on ignore that there is no one left to refute the misinformation, especially the medical posts! But you have to do what is right for your mental health.

A bit quiet at the booster vac centre in SYD Olympic Park (not my photo). PZ and Moderna offered.

PZ and Moderna offered.

Moderna is not yet approved to be used as a booster, and will not be given to anyone eligible for a booster who attends Olympic Park today.

"The boosters supplied are Pfizer vaccines, which will be administered to consenting individuals, regardless of what kind of vaccine they received originally."

And yet, they were offered it.
