It is truly remarkable that FlyBuys continues on, considering how utterly cough it is compared to other rewards programs. I mean, the Woolworths/Qantas one is very good -- how can Coles Group think they can compete against that with their coughpy FlyBuys program? Well, they've started amping the program back up with special offers with Liquorland and bonus points at Coles this weekend just gone. I think you'll find the FlyBuys program is definitely on par with Everyday Rewards at the moment. Just need to work out integration and swipe redemption with the card to make it as easy to use... Offer wise they're heading in the right direction though.

It would be fair to say that over the last three months or so, I have had more FlyBuys offers than I have had Everyday Rewards offers.

I'm at about one all so don't think the outcome is conclusive.

I think my elderly neighbour had a $20 voucher from them the other day. I didn’t ask how much she’d spent to get it, but I still reckoned I was doing better, having just cruised past 8000 points in EDR that I wouldn’t have earned previously.

After mainly using Coles/Flybuys, we are about to switch to EDR (currently use EDR but not as much as ColesFB). After putting all our groceries, fuel etc through FB for a couple of years I logged in to find out I could be lavished with a $20 gift voucher with the points I have accumulated. WTF??? What a waste of time

Meantime, with just the occasional EDR purchase over the same period, have accumulated almost 5000FF points.

Is there really such a huge discrepancy between these programs or am I missing something?

I could never really see the point of fly buys...

To earn a $50 gift card on flybuys with a regular shop at coles, you need to spend around $15,625 (6,250 points @ $2.50/pt)

While that sort of spend divided equally over say 52 weeks on the EDR (Woolworths) works out to something like this (($15,625/52=$300)-$30 for the minimum spend) = 270 points per week (or 14,040 points per year = which is more than enough to purchase $75 worth of gift cards in the Qantas store with 3,040 points spare for the next redemption...

Both programs have similar bonuses to speed up the earn....

Unless you really like Coles, or don't have a Coles store near you, why would you participate in the Flybuy's loyalty program...?

It's better than getting nothing. Generally, my local Coles is cheaper than my local Woolies for what I buy (Coles being located in the same centre as an Aldi, Woolies out by itself).

Over time I have collected quite a few awards - my first was a mystery flight

EDR is useless for all of my top-up shops - nothing if I spend under $30. FlyBuys gives more points than Woolies for any shop under $50. And it's fewer points with FlyBuys to get a $50 gift card to use at Coles than it is for the Woolies / Qantas equivalent. And I get points at Coles Express / Shell in addition to the 4 cents off - at Woolies / Caltex you get one or the other as far as I know.

We've gotten 3 x $100 vouchers from Flybuys now, better than nothing. I regard QFF points as of almost no value these days so I don't bother with Woolworths.

Wish I could get cash back for all my Westpac Altitude points, they only allow you to buy trinkets.

Hope the DJ hookup fixes this though news reports suggest the delay is because Coles want DJ to pay more and DJ want Coles to pay more. Each believe the other needs them more!!

Both EDR and FB work for me, results vary depending upon the year and my location; but having both is worthwhile.

Well, when shopping at Coles, EDR is useless to me. Now, sure Flybuys would be more useful if I could get the points across to Velocity or somewhere, but the points are far from worthless.
