Getting waved through customs

Been waved through last four trips BNE, BNE, SYD, BNE. Of course, having no luggage helps :)

Cheers skip

AU: MEL and BNE no problem at all.

AKL has stopped me each time without fail. The very first time some twenty years ago involved interception right at the point of passport control when I was asked seven times if I'd ever entered NZ before. My backpack was searched and my travel plans were reviewed. As I packed to leave I found something common amongst all who were searched and interviewed. We were all carrying backpacks. One "lucky" lady was a flight attendant.

A more recent trip involved some shoulder slapping by my ex-boss at the point of being asked if we had anything to declare. Some people just don't know when to stop joking  As expected, we were searched and interviewed. Copies of our business documents that involved IP were made. Looking across the inspection bench, we saw a ?PRC chap who was being mouth swabbed. Fortunately, we were a pair of comedians that Customs was happy to let go once they were convinced of the nature of our trip

I think Customs was professional and I did not feel "victimised" ;)

Interesting topic. I was just sharing notes with a friend earlier in the week. We noticed that brown boxes (as opposed to luggage bags) are always stopped at Customs anywhere. Perhaps it's about commercial or industrial stuff that attracts taxes :?:

I got stopped coming back from AKL because my passport had a lot of SE Asia destinations... What can I say? I love the beach and cheap clothes! :D

My fiance always gets stopped. He looks a bit like a terrorist (or the American TV versions of) when he doesn't shave his beard or cut his hair. One security guard even asked if he was Arab and didn't like the response "No, Australian."
