Wouldn't mind being in a go around one time just for the experience and/or to see one happen from the ground...

It resulting in a violent crashing and burning situation i could live without....

Only happened to me once in a few million miles of flying. Overall rare but common at the same time.

It happened into LAX on a QF A380 (93) in March this year, (I was in it).

we were coming down to land, and were getting really close, (you could see the rooftops/powerlines out the window etc. Then suddenly, about 10-15secs before we were expected to touchdown, we hear this brrrroooooomm, and the plane aims upwards, as we did a go around.

The Captain then came up on the radio, and said that ATC had given them a really tight window and it wasn't safe enough, hence the go-around

I've had this occur on QF93 also on 23/01 this year. It seems that time of the morning in LAX increases the chances of a go-around.

seems like a non event if the go around was executed at 1000ft... happens all the time all over the world. whilst I don't know the exact cause of this one it all seems perfectly safe and doesn't really even warrant a discussion the other millions of times this occurs on earth.

Sounds like DJ was lined up after the landing aircraft with an intent to roll as soon as the landing aircraft (an A320) had vacated. If the A320 doesn't make the exit you intend, you're left with no where to go but the next arrival to go around because the lined up one can't vacate.

Whilst not an everyday occurrence, it's not particularly unusual.

Full power on the go around because you need to arrest the descent.

That's not fast talking either, maybe you are not expecting to hear what is being said?

All this public access to what is being said keeps reminding me to be careful what I say...

Who was operating the A320?

I was going off the tape provided by Markis, states line up behind the A320 on final and be ready to roll...

Seems like the 581/582 double was fun yesterday.

Apparently 582 had a air rage incident yesterday and the person was had the AFP waiting for him in Sydney (No source apart from Today's West)

Guess we better not discuss anything that might be of interest to other people then!

Twice for me, and both at CVG, and both DL.

Sent from a bench in the terminal because the QF lounge was full. :p
